Thank you, BodySpace.

I’m glad BodySpace is here. Hopefully it will serve as some positive motivation.

Yesterday I started a new program.

Pullups 3 sets x 5 reps

I decided to avoid the assisted chin machine and opted instead for the steps, stepping up and then lowering myself as I could only do two chins. Jesus. But I did the 3 sets of 5 negatives and that’s a start.

Lat pulldowns 3 x 8-10 with 80, 90, 100*
Seated rows 3 x 8-10 with 90, 100, 110
One armed DB rows 3 x 8-10 with 30 lb dumbbell
DB curls 3 x 8-10 with 20, 25, 30
Hammer curls 3 x 8-10 with 20
*I didn’t write down my weights. Duh. So much for record keeping. But although my memory is pretty much @$$, those numbers are good enough ballpark. Note to self: Keep records.
Life Fitness treadmill for 30 minutes at 3.7 speed and 1.5 incline, followed by a 5-minute cooldown.

Today I’ve had oatmeal and a fat-free strawberry yogurt for breakfast. Just had another yogurt for a snack.

Going to have to get consistent with my eating as well as my training if I want to see any improvement. Both diet and lifting took a beating while I was taking classes this summer. Took two classes at Penn State’s local campus and another at my alma mater, Millersville University.

Anyway, I missed workouts and ate late. Although, in a related and positive note: I earned an A in both of my Penn State classes. My first ever 100% in the one class, actually. (brag, brag, brag)

Plan on finishing my Millersville coursework today. Should also get 30 minutes of cardio done at the local track. More this evening.

I did not finish the coursework, but I did run over to the track, around the track, and back home for more than 30 minutes of cardio. Calling it running might be pretty generous as a description of what I did. Plodding shuffle doesn’t quite describe it, but it wasn’t a run either. Little kids were at the track playing soccer in the inner field. Two couples were on the tennis courts adjacent to the track. They’ve also got a baseball field and some guys were batting balls. Lots of adults standing around talking while their kids practiced soccer.

It was way busier than I expected. A beautiful day, sunny. Felt good that I did something healthy, of course. Meanwhile most of America is in the bar, sucking down Budweiser, smoking Marlboros, and eating a double buffalo burger with cheeeeeeeese.

Damn. That actually sounds like a plan.
