New program
Consistency is the key, of course. As is the "one more rep/one more pound" philosophy. It’s all about progression.
Making those regular steps up in intensity and forcing whatever your genetics might allow to actually allow so far as growth is concerned. That is, if I sit at home staring at the computer screen or TV or the ceiling then my muscles will have no reason to increase in size. I’ve always been a skinny guy and suspect that will continue, but as I’ve passed 40 my metabolism has definitely slowed, so it’s important that I hit the gym with absolute consistency. My goal is three days a week. Tomorrow is Monday and I’m planning on back and biceps being punished followed by at least a half hour of cardio.
Wendy’s is calling me though. ("Double with cheese and a Frosty, please.")
Yeah. And eating clean is a part of the equation, so I’ll have to ignore her demands. I’m making Wendy’s my biotch. Okay, actually it’s currently the other way around.
