A Mantra…
Ever sit down and ask yourself….why am I doing this? Why do I exclude myself from most of my peers to eat something different. Why am I going straight to the gym every morning, instead of meeting a friend for coffee? Why am I scheduling cardio before picking up the cleaning, doing the laundry, or paying the bills? The time spent training, planning and preparing meals, doing cardio….what could I be accomplishing?? Well, here’s my answer…I’d love to hear yours!
I workout and compete for motivation not validation. I don’t need to win, I need to move. I don’t need to diet, I need to be healthy. I love how I feel after a hard workout, and I know that a clean diet is fuel for a great body. It is hard to have one without the other. It is all about a healthy balance!
TRAIN HARD!!

"The time spent training, planning and preparing meals, doing cardio….what could I be accomplishing?? "
My answer to this is that the time it takes me to be heallthy allows me greater concentration for work, more energy to spend with loved ones, a more possitive outlook and clearer thought patterns…
So training and eating well is an investment in a better life. I wouldnt accomplish as much without training…
For me this isn’t just an opinion, it’s fact I lived the "other" way for 10 years and it’s a downward spiral…

Mine’s pretty simple: The big guy upstairs designed us to work hard and seek to make a difference. For a moment if you will, ponder this: If easy everything was, boring life would be…..Yeah, I went a bit Yoda on you…It just seemed right for some reason. Thanks for the stimulating post, you are number One my friend!

Nice post.
Mine would be…
I do it because I need something that I can’t win; something I can only strive for. If I could win it, then I could stop. If I’m striving then I can still remain hungry and in position to take ground.
All the best!

I became a mother nearly 3 years ago, and I love having something that I do just for ME. It gives me the energy to be the best mum I can be to my son and my husband appreciates the results. So, though it could be seen as a selfish pursuit, it actually benefits the people around me.
