Stepping it up!

So, I have been eating better.  Occasional cheats, but nothing too major.  However, I do rely upon protien shakes and bars often.  A trainer had mentioned to me that’s not too good.  I agree, but not sure I understand why.  Oh well.  I think I need to become more strict with my diet - less shakes and bars, and more ‘real’ food.  I have all I need in the fridge to complete my mission - now, it’s just a matter of putting in all the planning, preparing, and effort into it!

the reason that protein drinks are not too good is this. Protein drinks do not stimulate the metabolism like real food, which is why we use it as a snack and not an actual food, unless we are preparing for a show. So using protein drinks to replace more than two meals a day will mean that you will be slowing down you metabolism, since protein drinks are already broken down protein. The same thing with protein bars. They are designed to break down quickly in your stomach, so the stomach doesn’t have to work hard to break down the bar. Another slow down of metabolism. Plus, bars and protein drinks, depending on which company and who makes it, can have alot of extra calories that you don’t need in your diet- sugar and bad fats.

    Hope this helps
