Planning and consistency

Ok, I really need to get off of this roller-coaster!  I do really well for a while and then go back to zero exercises and bad eating habits.  My weight is stabilized, so I guess that’s a positive, but any strength and toning that I gain seems to vanish right away.

Yeah, I know I just have to be more disciplined, and that part of gaining that discipline is planning.  It just seems that there are sooooo many plans out there that I just don’t know where to start.  Any advice?  Should I just focus on a few core exercises and add some cardio?  I’ve resisted joining a gym because I pretty much have all of the equipment I need, and yes because I don’t want to have that added expense and end up not using it!  I’ve also thought about a trainer just to help me with some planning. And not to make excuses, but it really is hard to be fully dedicated to a specific weight training plan and nutrition plan because with my family and work and other things going on it just does not always seem practical.

Anyway, enough ranting…I suppose I just need to really think about what I want with regards to my fitness and health.  Then, I need to develop a routine and stick to it.  Yeah, I know what I NEED to do, it’s just doing it that is the hard part.  Any other suggestions are definitely welcome!
