Yesterday was a rest day for Crossfit and an easy 2 mile run for my running program. I went into the gym and did 45# BB thrusters, 75# DL’s and 18 inch box jumps 20 reps X5 sets. Then I did 5 pull ups, 10 push ups and 15 GHSU’s with 10# plate X5. Ran my easy 2 miles and came home. There were alot of people in the gym yesterday and I guess everyone except me was doing some heavy mastoid work. I never was one to stand around in the gym and gab for hours, I’m actually there to work out and I rarely talked when I did traditional lifting. Now that I do Crossfit, I feel like one of those music videos where one person is moving really fast and everyone else is in slow motion. Today was DL for CF, 3-3-3-3-3. But I have a 9 mile run tomorrow that I don’t want to be sore for, so I did 400m sprints on the TM, 6 DL at 115# and 10 calf raises with 50# X6. I hope it was enough to get a good workout but no too much to affect tomorrows run.

Yesterday was my 7 mile tempo run so I got up early to get it done before we took off for the family. I ran a mile to warm up and then ran 5 miles @ a 8 minute per mile pace. The run didn’t feel all that great, I just couldn’t get relaxed into it and had alot of distractions. Thats way it goes sometimes. I remember my last tempo run was on Halloween and I ran 4 miles at an 8:30 pace, so I am pleased with the improvements at least. Today will be a make up CF day and easy 2 mile run.

Before I talk about my date with Lynne, I just want to take some time to tell all the service men and women that I really appreciate your service to our country. I really have no idea of what it feels like to miss holidays at home with family, the only times I’ve missed is working in the ER or something. Hope that you are all home soon for many happy holidays with your family and friends!!!!
Lynne is one of the ladies of CrossFit. 5 rounds for max reps of bodyweight bench press and pull ups. I can’t and probably never will be able to bench press my own weight and I’m not sure that I care that much about being able to bench 120#. My bench numbers have increased since I started doing CF, I can do 3/4 of my BW for 3 reps. Chest has just never been an area I concentrated on much. Go figure. There are parts of my body that I just don’t want to be ripped, jacked, swole, striated, beefed up or whatever term you want to use. For me personally, I just prefer a little softer look. (: To match up with my soft little heart!! Haaaa! Anyway, when Landon finally rolled out of bed, we went to the gym and did some heavy (for me) bench, pull ups, push press and GHSU with weight. Yesterday was also my easy 2 mile run which I wanted to save until the evening to see how I run at night. Sice it is my easy run I didn’t push it too hard-16:24 and it didn’t seem too much different than running in the day. Afterwards, I decided to run some bleachers, which I haven’t done since I started the running plan 14 weeks ago. WOW! What a difference! I have no way to measure but I felt much lighter and know I was faster than before. I guess this version of me is getting better and better!!
HAPPY THANKSGIVING BODYSPACERS!!!!! HAPPY SHOPPING TO ALL YOU CRAZY PEOPLE WHO GO OUT ON BLACK FRIDAY!!

Today is the first time that I’ve actually been sore after a run. So much for that ice bath! My calves and the very tops of my quads were feelin’ it this morning. I knew the CF WOD would be a BLAST since it included KTE and lots of leg stuff!! 3 rounds for time. 21 Knees to elbows (KTE), 21 kettle bell swings 1 pood, 21 push ups, 3 15ft. rope climbs, 21 box jumps at 20 inches, 21 back extensions, 150 ft. of walking lunges. Now to my subs: last set of KTE was more like KTC, KB swings with 35# DB, rope climb was alt. rows with 20# DB. Tonight I plan to go down to the wrestling room and do some rope climbs since I love ‘em so much!! I’m sure the rope would add alot of time to my score of 25:34. My legs and hip flexors are going to hate me tomorrow!!!!

Thanks to all my friends on BodySpace that sent birthday wishes my way on Saturday!!! I’ve made alot of GR8 friends here!! (:
Today was a 9 mile run, the most I’ve ever run! I ran with a camel pak which did keep me hydrated better and I think helped me perform better but the thing annoyed the crap out of me!!! The weather was great, fairly cool at 55 degrees. I ran it in 74:17, which is, by far, my best long distance run time!! A special thanks to FrogPrincess for being there for me the whole way with encouragement via text!!! Tomorrow she does her 9!! GO IFP!!
When I got home, I ran my ice bath to try and help with soreness tomorrow. I’ve decided, after doing several of these, that I would be a horrible navy seal and would probably be drowned by my drill Sgt. within the first 10 minutes of hell week!! (:

Todays run was 6 mile total inc. warm up, 5×800 @4:58 with 400 meter jogs in between. My goal was to do mine in under 4 minutes, which I did. 3:36, 3:51, 3:48, 3:55 and 3:42. Then I wanted to see how fast I could do 100 meter sprints not going full out because that is how I hurt my piriformis last time, I never got under 18 seconds, Soooooo…..I guess I won’t be making the Olympics in 2012!! (:

Today was an easy 2 mile run day, as is every Tuesday. This was the first time I ran in colder weather…it was 40 degrees. Time was 16:43. Then I hopped in the car and met my oldest son at the gym. He lives in the college dorms and works 40+ hours a week so we don’t get to spend as much time together as we used to. Yesterday evening he asked if he could work out with me! (: Today’s CF WOD was push jerks 1-1-1-1-1-1-1. My max lift was 75# using a push press because I still can’t do a very good jerk. My son did 105#. Then we did some bench press for max weight…mine was 85#. Not much of a max but better than I’ve done in the past. We finished up with some GHSU which he LOVED (; Then he was asking how you kip a pull up and I was showing him and actually kipped 3 pull ups!!!!!!

Today’s WOD was Helen= 3 rounds of 400 m run, 21- 1 1/2 pood KB swings and 12 pull ups. I looked back through my blogs to find my previous time and I didn’t list it!! AGH! Today my time was 9:52. The sprints were probably where my greatest improvement was…2:00, 1:54 and 1:48. I did the KB swimgs with a 35# DB and my pull ups were all with an underhand grip. I was actually getting a little bit of swing, as I struggled with the PU so maybe I’m not too far from an actual kip! Pretty happy with this time!
Also, I stopped at the chamber of commerce who then sent me to the county dept. who then sent me to the city hall. The lady at the window said I could wait and talk to the Mayor but I opted to leave my cell number. Ever since the Mayor saw my thong, I just can’t make eye contact! (: Several years back he came to the house to pick up his son who had been playing at my house all afternoon. As we are standing at the door making small talk, my 6 year old son comes tearing through the living room screaming "ZORRO! ZORRO!" wearing my shiny, silver thong for a mask!! :O It was just one of those moments where there really are no appropriate words….I just laughed and shook my head as the Mayor turned a very deep red!! I just can’t look at him without thinking about that day. Ah, kids!
