Some one please explain

Sunday, September 16th, 2007

I really don’t want to get down on anybody and this is not pointed at any one in particular. I just don’t understand the need for naked or nearly naked pictures on a "bodybuilding" website. I do understand that to be able to see muscle you have to show the muscle. And I’m not really offended by nudity. I just don’t understand the pics without clothes or ass crack, I mean this I really don’t understand. I don’t no of anyone who wants to see ass crack!!!! And it’s not just the women, there are just as many men whose pics go way too far into the nether region!!! I’m not offend but I am rather amused and get a real good gigle out of the nekkie pictures. My 2 teenage boys think they are hilarious!!! If I ever lose my mind and put an ass crack picture on my site some one please cyber-slap me!!!!!!!

Confessions

Sunday, September 16th, 2007

Time for a confession…my diet has totally sucked the last couple of weeks!!! I’ve had some difficulty eating the past week because of the spacers I got put in on Monday but I can’t really blame on the pain. My diet has always been my area of slackage. I love to lift. And I don’t mind cardio if I can do it outdoors or play b.ball. But my diet is something I really hae to stay on top of. I don’t over eat…I under eat. And (sorry Mother) I don’t eat my vegetables. I like vegetables, it’s just not what I reach for when I’m hungry. I’m not getting enough protien and more than likely not enough calories. So starting tomorrow, I’m going to keep track of everything I eat and see exactly where I stand and get back to where I want to be!!!!

2 chicks with bikes

Saturday, September 15th, 2007

Today was the perfect weather day! This morning my friend Christy and I went to the mountain biking trails and it was so nice. It was sunny and about 70 with just a slight breeze. It felt great to be out. We did a 5 mile or so trail that isn’t super hard or techinical so you can really go fast and have some fun. I was going down into a washed out creek gulley and hit a root that twisted my front tire and couldn’t get my right foot out of the clip before I bit it. It was really a pretty good fall, if there is such a thing and I think there is. I got both hands down and landed on my right hip in a semi-soft area. The only injury is a big, ugly bruise on my hip. But on the up side…it’s high enough up that no one will see it (if they do my shorts are WAY too short) and I landed on the most fat area of my hip. I was able to complete the ride without any problems!! I can’t wait to ride again.

Legs

Friday, September 14th, 2007

It is Friday which means a short day at work so instead of getting up at 5:30 I waited to work out when I got off at noon. I pulled into the parking lot and it was so deserted I thought they might be closed but I guess it was just a slow day which is fine with me…the less people to get in my way! I started off with walking lunges carrying 20# Db’s across the aerobics room about 30-35 steps for 6 sets. Then I did stiff legged deadlifts; one of my all time favorite leg exercises, with 40# DB’s 20 reps for 4 sets. Then it was on to the leg extensions for 4 sets with 80 pounds about 12 a piece. Man, those burn! I finished it up with sumo sqats holding a 40# DB going super low for 4 sets about 20 reps. Why is it that it seems like everytime I do sumos or deads some crack-head has to get behind me?? I have stopped mid rep before and been like, "what?" That usually works and then they think I’m a bitch! Oh well! I’m the one with the problem, right buddy?

Taking the bodybuilding lifestyle too far

Thursday, September 13th, 2007

These are a few ways you can tell you are taking the bodybuilding lifestyle too far.

1) You ask your partner if they want to have sex in the supinated or pronated position?

2) A co-worker lifts something at work and you run over to spot yelling "COME ON!GUT IT OUT!GET IT! GET IT! GET IT!

3) You challenge pre-schoolers to pull-up contests at the play ground.

4) Your co-workers notice you doing glute squeezes during staff meetings and you respond with "Doing glutes baby.Feel that…no really feel it.Hard as a rock baby!"

5) You find your flexing during normal daily activities.Like handing the cashier your debit card. "look at those fore-arm striations…Don’t be hatin’!"

6) You wear work out attire all the time, like your gloves. Hey, you never know when you might need to drop and do 20!!!

Feel free to add your own!!!!

I need narcotics!!!!!!

I went to the orthodontist today and got 8 spacers shoved in between my teeth. The right side was so crowded that the girl had to go get the 6′2" 250# pound guy to make the metal ones go in and he had to grunt to get them in. Needless to say my mouth is throbbing like and crazy and my choices for dinner are sherbert or broth. Looks like it might be a long night.)-:

DB presses 3 sets with 25# and 2 sets with 30#

Lateral DB raises 4 sets with 10#

Front raises 4 sets with 12#

Rear DB raises 4 sets with 8#

I’ll ride my spinning bike tonight if I feel like it.

Supermarket Rage!!!

Sunday, September 9th, 2007

Does anyone else out there leave the grocery store so mad you can’t see straight?!?! First, I made the mistake of going in on Sunday afternoon, I know better than this but we needed food! I know there are no written rules on lane usage or cart flow but it just seems like common sense to me that the laws of traffic would apply and make things go more smoothly for everyone involved. But NOOOOO! We can’t use common sense or a system of any sort and God forbid we should use things like etiquette or manners! What is wrong with these people who park there carts right in the middle of the isle while they decide if it should be fat-free or low-fat cookies?! Or the people who park on one side of the isle to go to the other side and get something of the shelf, think about it stupid, you are still taking up the whole isle!! Or the folks that run in to there long lost cousins-brothers-uncles-stepmoms-best friend and they have 10 years of gossip to catch up on, in the middle of the isle!!!! And what is wrong with saying "excuse me please." when you need to get past someone??  Or how about "thank you for spending several hundreds of dollars with our store each and every week, we appreciate your business." Instead of the only thing out of the cashiers mouth is the price of your purchase. And why do they call those people in the front "greeters" when they rarely say hello?? I know I should just let things roll off my back but sometimes I just can’t help it!!!! I get so frustrated with people who are rude and self-centered and it seems to just be getting worse and worse!!!! Is it just me????????

I’m exhausted

Saturday, September 8th, 2007

I think my body is telling me to take a break today! I’m still slightly sore from the reverse pull ups a couple of days ago and my abs and legs are sore from yesterday. Sometimes you just have to know when to rest! It’s really hard for me to stay out of the gym even for one day; I feel like I’m getting behind or something. I’ve read that your rest periods are when you grow.

I bought a spinning bike yesterday for the house. I got a 1,000 dollar bike in great condition for 100$. I’m excited!!

Back/Biceps

Thursday, September 6th, 2007

Today was back and biceps day and I took some of the advice from my fellow bodybloggers and tried some reverse pull-ups. Basically you get in the top position and slowly lower yourself to the bottom. I didn’t think they would be too hard but boy was I wrong! I did pretty good on the first 5, taking 5-10 seconds to lower myself. After that it seemed like the atmosphere changed and gravity was in full affect, it would take me a second to drop, it seemed like it anyway. I tried about 30 of these total throughout my work out.

Seated hammer strength- 25, 30, 35, 45 #

Seated cable rows with D-handle bar- 50, 60, 70, 80#

Lat pulldowns-70, 80, 80, 90#

Behind the neck close grip pulldowns-70, 80, 90, 90# (I have to be careful with these because they make my neck flare up sometimes)

Cable bicep curls-50, 50, 60, 60#

Seated concentration curls-15, 20, 20, 20 (Last set to failure)

Legs

Tuesday, September 4th, 2007

Started legs off with walking lunges in the aerobics room, about 30 steps, carrying 15# DB’s for 4 sets. I then did leg press with my feet high and wide on the plate with 3-45# plates on each side and 2 sets with feet together and down low with 4-45# plates. Then I did BB stiff leg dead lifts. 4 sets with 65-120#. Those ALWAYS get me! I finished up with leg extensions to failure. Man, those burn!!!! I can already tell I’m going to be sore tomorrow because my butt is starting to get sore on the sides. Tomorrow will be back and biceps and I’m going to try the reverse pull ups! Oh Boy!!
