Workout of the Day (WOD)

Here is the workout I did today:

 

Warmup 5min.

Squat Press: a front squat with a press above your head at the top of the movement

warmup x 15,

3×10

Lateral Lunge: 3×10

hamstring curl on TRX - like doing a curl on the physioball  3×10

 

Cardio curcuit: 4 rounds as fast as you can

10 pushups

10 pullups

10 kettlebell swings

 

I was breathing pretty hard after all that

Todays Workout

Monday, May 26th, 2008

Man am I beat! I have been doing my new program and I am loving it. It is definitely kicking my but though, which is good. Here is what I did today:

Power Curl - basically a deadlift with a arm curl at the end of the movement.

Bar X 15, 65# x 10, 75# x 10

Bar Punch - Olympic Bar with one end on floor in the corner, hold the other end with weight on it and punch out and up.

Bar x 15, 45# x 15, 65# x 12

Rope Pull - 30 ft of rope with weight attached to one end. pull toward you.

35# x 15

Kettlebell shoulder press

18# 3×20

Superset Arm curls and Tri ext -  Using TRX system - www.fitnessanywhere.com

3×10

Cardio curcuit - did 4 rounds

Squats x 20

Alt step tap on medicine ball x 10ea leg

heavy bag boxing x 1minute

Feeling Great!

It’s amazing what a difference a week makes! As you all know from my last post I injured my back last week while working with a patient. I only worked out twice at very low intensity and just felt defeated.

This week I am feeling great! I have been able to get into the flow of my new workout routine and i’m loving it. I noticed today that I was carrying myself better, walking taller and more confident; with a greater feeling of well being. I am looking forward to how much better things will get as my body improves and the weeks pass by.

Speaking of loving my work outs, it’s time to go bust butt!

Back Injury

I swear, I find more things to keep me struggling with my goals. As some of you might have noticed I have not been on here much lately. I injured my back about a week ago.

A patient that I was helping to walk, decided that he did not want to walk anymore and just went limp leaving me to support his body weight, tweaking my back in the process. Nice of him huh! I can’t be too mad at him, he had a stroke originally and is not all there.

Unfortunately, I have only done several workouts this week of low intensity due to the back irritation. My back is starting to feel better now, other then still being pretty tight, so I am looking forward to getting back to some intense workouts this week. Just have not felt right all week missing my workouts. 

I can’t show up to NinjaBill’s big summer bash all bloted and looking like humpty dumpty because I didn’t work through my obstacles! 

Progress Update

Well I posted some new pics today. I am starting to see some progress, which definitely makes me happy! I need to get a new camera, mine doesn’t have high enough resolution to show some of the finer details that I can see. Hmmm…..that actually might not be a bad thing right now, maybe it will leave out some of the bad parts as well! :)

So even though I am not where I was hoping to be at this point, I am happy with the progress when I factor in the few breaks from lifting and the not so strict diet. That means that there is plenty of progress that can be made with the new program that I started this week!

I need to kick it up a notch if I want to show up to NinjaBills July Bash looking huge and ripped!
