Iraqi Freedom Veteran
This was a buddy of mine back when I was at Ft Hood. Back in the late 90’s he got married and went off to Germany. I have been looking for him ever since. I even went as far as joining his high school alumni in hopes of gettting him to recognize my name and regain contact. After that didn’t work, I went out on a limb and emailed a few people that graduted around him. One of them sent me a link that his wife started. So if anyone needs any motivation to support the men and women of the Armed Forces, look no further. PLEASE SUPPORT THE TROOPS. Caring Bridge.org

Today two Canadians were killed in Afghanistan. A couple of boys (boys? They’re in their mid 20s. Knew them first as young boys in my parents’ church.) serve there now–one is a medic, the other is in communications, I think. Twin boys. Their parents have yellow ribbons all over their property.
Created a bulletin board Nov. 06 in the junior high where I was teaching then about them. We’ve got local boys serving and most of us don’t know–or maybe don’t care. My staff spend more time following the characters on Survivor then the real heros in our community.
Yeah, I support the troops, too. As a Believer, I’m not so sure about war as a means to solve problems, but I won’t have it figured out down here. "Love your enemies" and all that.
But we should never turn our backs on those who believe that what they do is right when it comes to military service. Men (and women) like you who serve or have served have got my support. I’ve got your backed covered–with prayer, at least. Hope you find it helps.
