Human beings have different aspects to their personality and character. For example, each person has unique values, hopes, plans, sexual desires, eating habits, daily routines, mental capacities, moral traits, and emotional patterns. During brief meetings, a person can not possibly reveal all his or her unique characteristics. Some people make powerful first impressions with their physical appearance or mental abilities or developed skills. Additionally, some people display admirable qualities in public while concealing negative or destructive traits. The trap that catches many people is falling in love with one aspect of a person?typically a striking aspect?and remaining blind to the bad or harmful aspects of that person. When one meets a potential love partner, one usually sees only a part of that individual’s entire personality and character. And when one is initially impressed with a potential love partner, one usually focuses only on the attractive qualities of the potential partner. One can carefully induce general qualities from exhibited traits and habits. One can also predict future actions by the potential lover via deduction from known characteristics. However, one should always remain open to new information that might modify one’s conclusions. Remaining blind?either intentionally or unintentionally?can only lead to pain and the loss of passion or the relationship itself. Breaking free from the trap of focusing only on one aspect of a person can be difficult, especially if one senses unpleasant characteristics beneath a person’s impressive facade. But this is vital if one wants a compatible lover for a long-term romantic-love relationship.
