Well we ran our race on Sunday in Philly on Broad St…woo hoo! It was a very rainy weekend…though were lucky during the race as it sprinkled. When we crossed the finish line and were just about to pick up a bottle of water..it started to really pour out! We were lucky…finished in 1 hour and 26 minutes and 47 seconds! My goal was to do it under 1 hour and 30, so am very happy. I started the first few miles a little faster than I should have..and by mile 7 was starting to feel it. Will work on pacing myself better in the beginning and then picking it up as the miles go on. Looking forward to a fun summer, and kicking it off a little early with a 4 day/5night stay in VEGAS. We fly out Saturday..never been..meeting two other couples there so we are in for some good times.
As far as training…plan to maintain my current fitness level and running …planning to run another 1/2 marathon this Fall.
Keep training hard!

Well I’m up to 6.5 miles…distance wise…slowly increasing the long run…plan to hit a 7-7.5 mile run this weekend…plenty of time… . My boyfriend was in this past weekend and since it was raining and nasty/cold out we decided to hit the gym …was able to get a short run on the indoor track. Had been a while since I’ve been to this particular gym and found it quite motivating. Always nice to switch things up. My boyfriend is running the 10mile race with me..which will be quite fun. He’s not a long distance runner…he’s a Rugby player…but we both figured it would be motivating to train for something together and get ready/inshape for our Vegas trip and summer . It’s interesting..because I think we will be quite competitive with each other (when I tell him I ran 6.5…he ran 7)….:)…very motivating!
I’m in San Fran this week…got up this AM at 3am EST…landed in San Fran about 10am ….hoping after my last appointment I have enough energy to get in a workout…I just picked up a 5 hour energy and a sugar free red bull..hoping that will help ! I’m here till Thursday….plan to log some miles on the hotel treadmill and lift some weights in their gym…keep training hard!

Colorado was a blast! Was able to check out Garden of the God’s, Red Rocks, and a awesome hike in Rocky Mountain National Park (I’ll work on posting pics soon!) Was nice to take in the scenery and get in some hiking. I have decided to run a 10 Mile race in May….. This week I was able to get in a 3 mile run, a 4.5 mile run and plan on one more tomorrow and on Saturday hopefully a run outside (weather is suppose to be in the 70’s..so excited for warm weather). Well that’s all for now….will keep you posted. Keep training hard!

Well it’s mid February! Half way through the month! I’m headed off to Colorado tomorrow for 5 nights..can’t wait. It will be a mix of work and play…hoping to get in some great hikes as well as take in the magnificent scenery. Workouts have been going well..been consistent and need to start picking up the mileage in running. Looking to possibly do a race the beginning of may before an exciting fun trip to VEGAS! I’m also excited that Spring is just around the corner…just wish it would get here sooner!

It’s been a while since I posted…need to get better about that . Had an amazing time over the Holidays and rang in the New Year appropriately. Was also able to give my body some much needed rest and am ready to hit it hard in the gym again. Plans for 2009 is to compete in another 1/2 marathon and find new ways to continue to challenge my fitness ability. I’m looking forward to some upcoming travel and a Fun Vacation trip in late April. Lot’s of exciting adventures ahead!!

It’s almost mid November..I can’t believe how fast time has been flying by. With a 2 day trip this week and a week long trip to Northern California for work…it will be Turkey day before I know it! Still training…mixing up the lifting as well as cardio. Was a bit burned out from running after the 1/2 …lasted about 2 weeks…back on track and looking towards another late spring/early summer 2009. In the meantime…mixing things up..and getting in my workouts =D!

Hello! It’s been three weeks since the 1/2 marathon…I am very pleased with my results. I completed the 1/2 marathon in 1 hour 59minutes and 24 seconds! Just under 2 hours as I had hoped for!! I was definatley really soar on Saturday..even my back! The hills were very intense and definatley gave me a run for my money…but I never stopped! Even ran withouth an mp2 player…while the guy on mile 3 shouted out " you all have a long long way to go!!!" now I understand the need to run with music. But is was an unbelievable feeling to finish and plan to do another 1/2 somewhere in the future…late spring….early fall time.! Otherwise..back to training..need to mix things up!!!!!!

Well I am less than 3 days out from my first 1/2 marathon! This is what runners call taper week..less running, more resting…Ran 4miles monday and some eliptical, 3 miles Tuesday with some eliptical and 2 miles this am with …you guessed it more eliptical. Thursday just plan on doing eliptical..and friday REST>>REST>>REST>>! I’m in Richmond working this week…will head up to Baltimore on Friday! I’m excited…found out I’m in the first wave of 1/2 marathoners to head out of the starting gate…me and 2,500 of my closest friends . there are 7500 runners in the race…..and 3 waves. Looks like high of 72 on Saturday..hope it’s only in the 60’s when I start…and hopefully it won’t be humid!! Well..I’m off….I’ll update my blog next week. OH, by the way..it’s kind of great to carb up for an event…when I’m use to depleting!

Hello all! Sorry it’s been so long!! Didn’t realize…updates..let’s see…still traveling (in Seattle this week!) weather rocks here right now, mid 70’s and sunny! Seattle is quite beautiful when it’s not raining! I’m still training for my 1/2 marathon. I ran 11.5 miles this past Sunday in 1hr44minutes..so thinking I can finish under 2 hours..that’s my goal. I am pretty confident I can do this. But boy..does 11.5 wear you out..my joints were soar the next day as well as my back slightly..(it didn’t help I had to sit on a plane all day either )…..so one more long run probably , then taper about 2 to 1.5 weeks out…
Other than that..VT football has started. I enjoyed our first home game and tailgating! Next weekend is Georgia Tech and I can’t wait! Loving that it’s Football Season..GO HOKIES!!!
