So it’s dreary and gray here in the so-called sunshine state of florida. We had three glorious days of beautiful mid 70’s sunshine and then this… And it’s friday… and i’m at work. I can’t wait to get out of here to workout!
Yesterday was cardio. 15 mins of HIIT on the treadmill, jump rope 200 X 3, elliptical 15 mins. It was a good thing i did some cardio cuz i had a slice of cheese pizza when the boys came over to watch the magic game. GO MAGIC! I’m ready to do some heavy lifting this afternoon!

Just came back to the office from a lunch workout. i won’t have time this afternoon because my parents want to have a family dinner with everyone (i’ll be eating salad and chicken, thanks). So i decided to squeeze in a workout today. I think the pressure of trying to complete my workout in the alotted 1 hour of lunch break that i have helped me increase my intensity. Funny thing was half way through my workout, my buddy showed up! So he joined me on the second half of the HST workout.
I feel good, i feel pumped. My stomach feels less jiggly. I was told to try and put some progress pics on here. But like i was telling him, I was kind of embarrassed to post them up, because i was hoping for better "after" pics! LOL But i just need to suck it up, and post them. That way more knowledgeable people can help me tweak my dieting and what not. I see myself everyday and may not notice results like others would…
So look out this week for some progress pics!!!

I tied to get out of it! My friend had a coupon for 50% off. And if you guys know anything about this restaurant, it’s all you can eat STEAK! Prime rib, filet mignon, top sirloin, chicken, pork, lamb…. its INSANE. So needless to say, I had an incredible cheat day last night. I had no sides except for some green beans and one slice of crusty bread to go with my lobster bisque! But boy did i fill up on the meat! I ate light for the whole day, protein shake, then whole wheat with PB, salad and chicken for lunch, protein bar preworkout, then protein shake and off to the meat smorgasbord. I almost called it off, but i went!
Well today had 45 mins of cardio. 20 mins of HIIT treadmill, and 25 mins on medium pace on an elliptical machine. Tomorrow will be Day 2 of Week 3 of the HST… gotta hit it hard!

Ran my first 5K of the year this morning. The time said 32:00, but then again i didn’t start at the front of the line! LOL It was actually 5.2 K because Season’s 52 was the sponsor. Anyway it was freaking cold! I ran like i usually run… not too fast. I just needed a good cardio this AM. Imma try and do one race every month to keep me motivated with cardio… cuz i hate doing it! But my body’s going to love me for it!
Anyway, trainings been great with the HST thing. Going on to week 3 on Monday!

So my my buds had this on-going bet regarding who’s the fastest sprinter among 4 of us. We can challenge all we want and motivate when it came to lifting and working out and i can be humble when it comes to one of them outlifting me. But this was about running! So after a few weeks of smack talking, on a chilly night in Florida, hoodies and shorts, on a streetlamp lighted neighborhood street, yours truly emerged the winner of a ~125ft race!!! Bwahahah! If that wasn’t enough, just to seal the deal won again on a ~75ft rematch!! I feel smug…
And this morining, now my hip flexors are killing me… lol

So went to the gym again yesterday to do another day of HST and ran into a buddy of mine that i haven’t seen in a while. We talked about each other’s new workouts and goals for the year and mine was to cut to see my abs. He was like, "really?!" you look like you’ve been bulking up! WTF?! I’ve been watching my diet, incorporating more protein, oats, brown rice, and fiber bread as my only sources for carbs. And this is what he tells me?! Then i thought about it, my waist hasn’t increased much and i’ve gained probably 2 lbs since New Year’s, so maybe the added protein and complex carbs had helped me pack on some muscle!!! Well that’s okay with me! I think i’ll keep this up until the end of the month and for real FOR REAL get on a true cutting routine. i’m still doing only 2 day/week cardio.
The HST is definitely kicking ass though, literally. My ass is sore from the lunges yesterday. And i def get a cardio workout in there with the full-body exercises. So I could in fact be losing fat AND gaining muscle at the same time! Wooo to the whooo!

So this going to be my day two of another full body workout. I rested yesterday and found myself to have a lot of extra time. Made dinner, watched a lame movie with friends, and then came back and ate more dinner while watching Nip/Tuck (not a good combination!) I should’ve spent time uploading some pics… grrr maybe tomorrow
I can’t believe how sore i felt from Monday’s workout! Those higher reps killed me! I can still feel some tightness today and am amped for this afternoon’s workout. Can’t wait to get out of work and try it!

So… in my quest to uncover abs by April 1st, i’ve been looking for different ways stimulate my muscles and i’ve done typical 3-day splits: push, pull, legs for most of them. I’ve done full body splits also, but nothing really planned out, but trying to keep the principle of resting the muscle group 48 hours. Tonight i’ll do the pictures and progress and stats thing and see where this workout will take me in 8 weeks. The goal is to gain some mass, but lose the gut. I need to keep the diet in check and hopefully this new program will shock my system enough to get some new gains while the diet and added cardio on "rest" days will shed the fat.

So i was about to do another cardio day, but I didn’t feel up to the cardio day like i did on Tuesday. I had 1/2 sandwich 45 mins before and i still felt full and my thighs and butt were still sore. I didn’t want to throw up either, so i did a just back day. Did 3 sets of 4 different back exercises (see workout tracker). I feel pretty big, i was able to do stronger lifts because I knew i only had a few exercises to do. I’ll do legs tomorrow

So i’m trying to increase more cardio so i can burn more fat. Here’s what i did
Elliptical machine moderate pace- 15 mins
Treadmill- HIIT for 7.5 miles/hr for 60s X 3= 15 mins total
Stair Elliptical moderate/fast pace- 15 mins
Jump Rope- 400 jumps X 3
