The weather outside is frightful

Sunshine State my a$$!  I dunno why they call Florida Sunshine State.  During the summer, it rains like every afternoon.  And today, we have some kind of cold front that is followed by rain.  So needless to say it’s gray and gloomy outside.

But i’m proud of myself!  I managed to tear away from my office.  I just came back from the gym!  I did a back workout and i literally was the only person in the gym save 2 trainers and the girl at the desk!  to make matters worse in the rush to get out the door this morning (i didn’t wanna get out of bed b/c of the gloomy rainy weather), i forgot to pack my gym bag with some shorts and a shirt!  I thought really hard about it and almost left and would’ve skipped out of my workout, but i didn’t!  I wore my dress slacks and my undershirt with my running shoes.  I looked kind of ridiculous, but i was the only there, so it’s not like anyone was noticing.  HA!

But i felt great!  i wish i had my gear cuz i would’ve really pushed myself.  I felt like i had tons of energy but i didn’t want to go all out cuz i didn’t wanna sweat through my dress pants!  lol

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas

All the parties are coming up, i foresee drinking and eating and not working out in my future…

I’ve been doing great on diet and working out this week so far.  My co-worker says that it looks like i’m losing weight?!  Hopefully it was just in my gut.  i’ve teetered between 170-172 the past week probably just regular water fluctuation.  but i gotta stay focused all week, so i can give myself a little leeway (sp?  i’ve never had to spell that word! lol) for the weekend.

So i really need to get my camera from a friend of mine and post some pictures on here, so i can get a good assessment of my goals and hopefully get some great advice for all the good people here. 

I forgot my lunchbag

I remember when i was in junior high when i used to brown bag to school the feeling of forgetting your lunch.  One day, i forgot my lunch.  I used to live only a mile from the school, so i had the option to possibly run home and grab it or spend my last 3 dollars in my wallet that i was saving to purchase POGS!  So needless to say, I spent my money on a hot dog and a bag of chips (food was cheap then). 

Then, after lunch recess, my teacher said that we had a visitor to the class.  I was excited at first, until the door gave way and in walked my grandma, clutching my brown lunch bag!  "You forgot your lunch sweetheart!" She said with a toothy grin.  Oh man, the embarassment I felt back then to have your grandma baby you when you’re trying to man up and be cool with your friends!

But I wish she was still here, because I forgot my lunchbag today.  I had everything in there ready, so i won’t be tempted to eat unhealthy!  So i was forced to go out for lunch.  Thank goodness i had leave some bread and PB&J and almonds in the office for emergency… and boy did i need it!

I did a leg workout during my lunch break today and i had to quit halfway through and only did 3 sets of squats and deadlifts.  I meant to do some extensions, curls, and calf work but I’m guessing it had to do with my lack of energy and not having my pre-workout meal.  I did manage to go to a juice bar and ordered a protein smoothie for my post-workout meal and then a turkey panini sandwich for later.

I’m so disappointed, sucks when plans don’t work out…it messes up your workout (lol?)  I’m sitting in my office thinking my grandma would pop up with my protein shake, banana, and chicken breast with veggies any moment!

Discovering the Workout Tracker

So i’m still new to all this stuff that BB.com has to offer and i’ve discovered the workout tracker!  Why didn’t I see it before?!  I’ve tried other times in the past to write all my workouts down to see where i can improve etc etc… but then i would lose them and hated carrying a scrap piece of paper to the gym to log my workouts.  But now it’s electronic!  It saves it for me and gives me stats on my lifts!  Who knew?!  HA!  This is great!  The more i spend on this site the more things I learn and discover.  It definitely has a lot of tool to help me reach my goals.  Anyway, waiting to get off for my lunch break so i can squeeze in a cardio today.

Monday

It’s Monday but i think i’ve kicked off my week pretty well.  Yesterday did a push day.  I had to cancel on going to the car show so i could work out, but those are the sacrfices that i have to make if i’m going to be taking this seriously. 2 sets of squats, bench press, incline press, decline press, flys, shoulder press, triceps push down, barbell overhead press, dips.

That night i also had to go to a friend’s engagement party.  I managed to stay away from desert, but i did eat chicken fingers.  I stayed away from the beer, and for cardio i danced my ass off for about an hour! lol

Today, i did a pull day and it feels great:  2 sets of deadlifts, cable pulls, lat pulldown, dumbell row, one arm pulldown machine, alt bicep curls, EZ bar curls, pullups.

 So far it’s great… I also got news that i’ll be working in the office for the next two weeks, meaning my schedule is set and i can plan out my meals and workouts much easier.  My buddy wants to work out tomorrow, so i’m going to have to add another push day but incorporate more leg work.  Hopefully my body recovers.  It’s only Monday!  I’m off to a good start… oh yea… despite the Holidays over the weekend, i weighed myself and i lost half a pound!  If i keep up this diet and workout i should be dropping a full pound by Friday!  Wut Wut!
