The Holiday Begins

So it begins….  the eating, the drinking, the stressing, the shopping, the missed workouts, the diets broken.  I need to stay focus and squeeze in as many workouts as I can.  I only worked out twice at the gym this week, but i also went running twice this week.  So i think i’m still doing okay.  it’s getting hard to stay motivated when all your friends and family are indulging themselves on the desserts and going to parties, shopping, and all that holiday spirit stuff. So focus is the focus for this week. 
I really want to do a month of bulking, cuz i’m eating anyway.  But, i’m training for a half marathon in mid-January.  So i’m going to need to add more and more cardio.  Hopefully i don’t lose all the muscle mass that i’ve gained.

 Anyway… stay focused i keep telling myself.  Enjoy the holidays but don’t get crazy!

Post weekend

Monday, November 24th, 2008

Monday is here and i am determined to stay in focus.  The weekend was a little overboard… i cheated 3 meals and i drank a couple of beers.  Sunday i tried to make up for it and went on a run half jog and half HIIT…So the past is the past… it’s all about what i’m going to do today.

I’m at work now, but i’m amping up to do a pull workout with my buddy after work.  I hope he’ll be able to push me a little harder today.  Let’s start the week off right!  YESSIR!

Lunch Pull Day

I’m pretty geeked out about working out at lunch.  I find myself with more energy and don’t get that afternoon slump.  So i think i’m going to keep this up!

Did a pull day today without legs cuz i worked them out yesterday.  Next week i’ll get into a real routine with my push day and pull day, but this week was more of a make up. So 3 supersets of bentover row and lat pulldowns.  2 sets of barbell pull.  2 sets of one handed lat pull down machine.  2 supersets of standing trap pull and EZbar curl.  All in about 45 minutes. 

 I must’ve been pretty tired, cuz i wasn’t pulling as heavy.  I might need to eat more carbs before breakfast now that i’m doing these lunch workouts.

Lunch workout

So this week has been pretty busy and so i’m trying to incorportate some lunch-time workouts cuz i don’t think i’ll be able to in the evening time like i usually do.

I went in and did 4 sets of deadlifts and squats,  3 sets of calves and walked for about 10 mins.  Took me approx 50 mins for the whole session, just enough time to drive back to work and drink my protein shake.  Now i gotta sit on my butt for the next 4 hours…

Welcome!

So… I’m getting more and more focused on actually bodybuilding, so i decided to join bodybuilding.com to help me stay focused and motivated.  We’ll see…

So I’ve been working out pretty consistently this year give or take a few bumps down the road, and I think i’ve gained pretty much about 5 pounds total, but i think i’ve lost some fat and gained muscle.  My friend who I haven’t seen since summer visited last month and she said that i looked thicker, but in a good way!  =)  that’s good i guess.

This month until the end of the year, I’m planning to do a two-day push/pull split including legs and try to hit the gym at least 3 days for weights and add 2 days of cardio.
