Summer sucks

May 27, 2009

I got home from college for the summer thinking that this summer I’m going to stay super active and lift a ton during the week.  I knew I would be working a lot, but everyday when I get home form work I’m absolutely beat.  I usually work 6am-5:30pm and I don’t want to get all jacked up from working out in the evening to where I won’t be able to fall asleep until midnight or even after.

This sucks….I wanted to make some big progress before I went back to school in the fall.

Trying to cut BIG TIME

April 7, 2009

I don’t know if this a good thing or anything but I’m trying to clear out my supplements a bit because I’m moving into a different apartment in about a month.  I’m also trying to cut down a good amount before the beginning of the summer.  So I’m using a couple different fat burners (Hydroxycut Hardcore, Lipo 6x, Lipo 6) along with a boost to my cardio.

I’m trying my best to eat a lot better than what I have been. I’m really limiting my diet a lot.  Basically eating tuna, chicken breast, cottage cheese, veggies and my protein shakes.  I’m still getting anywhere from 200-300 grams of protein/day depending on if I lift or not.

I’ve never dieted and/or did this much cardio so I’m looking to drop a HUGE % of bodyfat in the next 6 weeks or so.  Then I plan on maintaining through the summer and get a heavy bulking regimen going in the fall.

I feel like it’s time for a complete lifestyle change.  I just need a job in the summer so I can pay for all of those damn supplements!!! :)

Just can’t find a groove

March 23, 2009

Lately I just can’t seem to find my groove or much motivation.  I feel like I’m just treading water when others around me are seeing so many gains.  Maybe I’m just impatient or maybe I’m not as dedicated as I should be.  I know its going to take time to get as big as I want to be but its so hard to keep on track and stick with it when I’m so busy with school and studies.

I know other people can manage to do it, I don’t know why I can’t.  Any words of encouragement are greatly appreciated.

Didn’t hit my goal weight, but still happy!

March 5, 2009

Okay, so I didn’t hit my goal weight of 235 by the start of my schools spring break.  But i am happy that I lost about 4-5lbs in the last couple weeks and I lifted pretty heavily too with some cardio mixed in.

Losing weight while still lifting and putting on muscle is the best feeling I could possibly have for my body.

My new goal is to be about 230 at the end of finals week.  That is roughly 1.2lbs per week so wish me luck!

Stretch marks!!!

February 23, 2009

I haven’t lifted for very long.  Here and there in years past, but I didn’t really start lifting hardcore until about 3 months ago.

I couldn’t be more excited to see something as ugly as stretch marks on both sides of my shoulder, on my bicep and even on my back (lats to be specific).  I wasn’t sure how much I was gaining but this is a sure sign that I’m getting bigger and I couldn’t be more psyched about it.

I gotta keep at it though and keep the stretch marks coming.  Now that I’ve seen results its going to be hard to stop!

Time is hard to come by

February 16, 2009

I’m in the heart of the semester at CMU which means I am absolutely buried in work and studying.  I haven’t found time in about a week to really hit the gym or even get a few good cardio sessions in…its really disappointing.  This is really hurting me and my goal for spring break.
One good thing is that I got one of the best arm workouts I’ve ever had in a couple days ago.  I lifted for a good hour and fifteen minutes before I tried shooting some hoops with my buddy.  WOW was that a bad idea.  My arms were so tight and spasmy (not a word I know) that I couldn’t even get the ball to the hoop.
Thats all for today. Hopefully I’ll get out of class early and be able to get in a cardio session and maybe legs and abs tonite!

First Post. I’ve come a long ways since I started a year ago!

February 11, 2009

After my junior year of college, I moved back home for the summer where I work at a meat processing plant.  Me and some of the guys were just messing around when we all decided to weigh ourselves on the incoming meat scale.  I jumped up there and grabbed hold of the hooks and I eagerly looked over at the screen.  Yuck…268lbs (hooded sweatshirt and work boots included).  That was when I decided to change.
That day I went out and bought a scale and put it in my bathroom.  It was May 2008 and I was determined to drop a lot of weight by the end of the summer.  All i did the whole summer was watch what I ate, or at least watched it a lot more closely than I had before, and I went to work every day.  Every day I would weigh myself right before I went to bed.
By the end of the summer, I was down to 242 lbs and had also put on some muscle.  Not a lot of muscle, but I was still happy that I dropped weight and put on muscle because that means I lost a good amount of fat.  Now since the end of the summer, I am doing much more cardio and I am lifting a hell of a lot more.  My goal at the beginning of my senior year in college was to not gain any weight, and still lift a lot and keep a good close eye on my diet.
It’s now February 2009 and I have done a good job of this.  My weight is 244 lbs and I have been lifting a lot more.  I have changed my goal to a hardcore crash diet to drop to 235lbs by spring break (march 7, 2009).  Now of course I’m not going to just stop eating, but I am starting to load up big time on chicken, lean red meat, more greens and quite a few protein shakes.  This coupled with a TON of cardio every day along with a hardcore lifting regime for the next 4 weeks should get me to my goal.
