Lean on Me…
What an awesome movie! Anyways, I have been doing my cardio when I wake up and doing some more at night. Partly because I am bored…not working right now!…and partly because of the amazing women on this site. Eating is very off for me. I just can’t seem to eat clean. I know what I need to do but I’m just not there yet. One day I just wish I wasn’t thinking constantly of food…what to put in my mouth and then being disappointed because I put horrible food in my mouth. I figure though if I could slowly just change little things in my diet then it wouldn’t be such shock to my body. What some good things to incorporate in my diet?? Easy things people! And what are some good strength training exercises? I am not going to a gym right now but I do have a treadmill and a couple of weights. Help me!!

well atleast you started doing cardio, that’s good. you can’t change everything rigght away, you have to take baby steps.. start by staying away from sweets and progress from there. Three things; running, sit ups, and push ups, and since you have weights at home try doing, butterflies, chest presses, curls, and lunges, and plie squats.

You may also wanna focus more on weening yourself off things you want to avoid. Things like brewing a big jug of iced tea to drink throughout the day instead of carbonated drinks. Ween off sugars and eventually you try those old things and wonder why you ever wanted them to begin with. There’s really nothing you need to completely omit (except trans fats…) but just take in through moderation. Don’t deprive yourself, just set aside a meal a week or some system to reward yourself until it becomes habit.

Do trades. Pick one thing in your current diet that you know you shouldn’t be having & trade it for a lean, fresher healthier equivalent. Then do another trade, and another, and before you know it you will have changed your nutritional lifestyle.

Making small changes is a good way the previous responses are right on target. Body wt. movements are going to be your ally. Push ups, narrow ,wide, off a chair either hand or feet, dips off a chair and or feet on a chair, try a gallon jug with water set it in your lap while doing dips. Are you doing planks at all great for core? Do you have a stability ball or bosu ball? Try chocolate milk right after your work out with some whey if you like. Google chocolate milk and fitness.
