Results!! Southern States

No pictures to post as of yet but as soon as I get them I will put them up.  I came in 2nd place :-/ …Ummm, I think I came in looking better than I ever have before and the feedback I received from the judges didn’t really help me understand my placing.  The first thing out of most of the judge’s mouth was "you looked great, keep doing what you are doing" …A few judges followed that with minor critiques that I can work on: I need leaner legs, more strength moves, and more oil (no, i’m for real. thats what one judge told me :-) …Not sure what else to say about that.

I had fun!  Maria Bellando is a great promoter!  She made the best treats for us backstage :-) Everybody there was great! Cj, Shannon Dey, and all the competitors backstage that were crowded and hot with me til 2am!!  That was the LONGEST show I have ever competed in…  But I learned a lot and shook a lot of hands so I would call it a success.  When I get my pictures I will post them with my plans for my next 3 weeks of prep for Dexter Jackson.

a million things to do! - how to get a sponsor?

So since I am starting to realize how big Southern States is this year I am trying to figure out how best to optimize my time in Ft. Lauderdale.  I want to meet as many people as possible for the meer sake of exchanging knowledge and information.  But I would also like to take the opportunity to try and get some sort of sponsor or endorsement.  I’m not sure on the most business-savvy way of going about this but what I am going to do is print some pics with my contact and contest history on them and hand them out.  If anyone has any other suggestions PLEASE let me know!

its 5 days until i start to go crazy from dieting so i’m happy right now.  i’ve been doing my cardio (got a lil over-excited yesterday and did 60 minutes in the morning and 75 minutes last night, sweat was POURING off of me).  And today I found my lower abs! woo-hoo!!!!!

So I’m doing 3 sessions of weights this week concentrating mostly on legs and doing calisthenics for the upper body. Keeping the cardio at 2 sessions of 45-60min/day and doing routine work everyday.  Its game time!

Started a new protein powder today - Green Today Powerhouse formula from organicfrog.com …I only use 1.5 scoops instead of the suggested 3.  I’m looking for something that won’t give me as much gas and leave me feeling bloated.  This stuff doesn’t really have a taste and it mixes well. so far, so good

Tips on Tanning anyone?

So I am thinking about doing spray tanning for southern states instead of trying to paint myself with Pro Tan as I have done in the past.  Anyone have any tips, suggestions, or pros/cons of spray tanning?

too many muscles “for a girl”?

Crazy how you can feel so pumped about your training and it only takes one person’s comments to make you doubt yourself.  Yesterday, someone left me a comment on another site that said I have too many muscles "for a girl" and that it was nasty… Didn’t really affect me immediately but I haven’t stopped thinking about it so I guess it did…

Anyway, today is rest day.  I have been pushing hard at the gym and the track these last few weeks and haven’t taken a day off.  So today I will not do ANYTHING physically demanding.  Instead I will pamper myself.  Tomorrow I will do cardio and fitness routine work and then Saturday I will start back.  Hopefully these two days will give my body a chance to rev itself back up…

its been two weeks already?!! vegas vs new york

Wow, I can’t believe its been 2 weeks since my last post.  I have been so busy with school and track, I guess its slipped my mind.  I will definately work on being more consistent.

 So whats new with me?  Well, I’ve recently checked womenstrifitness.com and found that its national show in las vegas falls on the same weekend as the NPC team universe competition in new york.  :-( …now i must decide which one I want to do.  I could earn my pro card at team u but I could avenge my second place finish from last year (by .07 points!!) in las vegas.  Luckily I wouldn’t have to adjust my training for a specific competition for another 2-3 months so I have a little while to think about it.  Any suggestions???

NPC/IFBB vs WNBF/INBF

This is my first year competing in fitness and so far I’ve done 2 NPC shows and 1 tri-fitness show.  I have always had a passion for health and fitness so these competitions have been a great way to showcase my passion. 

I’ve been trying to map out a schedule for the shows I will do next year but every time I look for shows I run into the same problem: which organization should I focus on?  Can anyone help me understand what the benefits of becoming a pro in one organization would be over another?  As an amateur I have free reign right now between all of them but once I turn pro I’m stuck so I want to make an educated decision on this.
