GREAT workouts!!! …16.5 weeks from Jr. Nationals

So last week I got a little carried away with a workout cuz I accidently did 3 workouts together (thats what happens when you just hang out with people that are working out lol)  I did 45min of cardio then a 10:45 instant death crossfit workout then a complete leg workout with deadlifts!  Yea I definitely felt that one for a good 4 days afterwards lol…

Today I did upper body 3 sets of 8 heavy superset with a burnout of the antagonistic secondary muscle (bent over DB rows with tricep cable pushdowns or Barbell press with bent over reverse flyes)… I ended with a whole heep of functional abs (hanging ab raises for my press holds, bicycles for running, etc)… Then 30minutes on the bike…

I will officially start counting calories next week but I am down to 118lbs with 13lbs to go to reach my goal weight in Chicago.  Thats less than 1lb per week so I’m pretty confident I will be losing majority fat and maintaining muscle.  So far so good.

As for my injuries, my back continues to bother me but o well I’m not stopping.  My hip flexor had been ok but it started naggin me this weekend so I’m going to take it easy but I am doing a full leg workout on Wednesday so we will see…

Should I do the Europa? …17.5 weeks from Jr. Nationals

So I want to do more shows this year (so far I only have the Shannon Dey, May 16; Jr Nationals, June 19-20; and World WTF, July 9-10)… I would like to get as many in as would be beneficial to me before Jr Nationals.  The 2009 Europa Show of Champions is April 17-18 in Orlando, Fl but its a non-qualifier.  I’m wondering if there will be enough fitness competitors there to make the contest prep worth it.  The show is an entire month before what I was planning on being my first show so I really need to step it up if I am going to do it.

 

Has anybody done this show before?

Still nursing injuries but I’m pumped …18 weeks from Chicago

So my back hurts (as always) but my hip flexor is "less hurt" so I’m good.  I am going to take it easy for another week and try to start lifting with it (lunges and squats and such)… This week I did cardio, chest, back, and versa climber sprints for legs.  So if nothing else my endurance will be good for the routine (and the obstacle course in vegas!!) …I have lost 7lbs and I figure I have about 15 to go before Jr. Nationals

…I’m kinda frustrated I have yet to get the kind of music I want for my routine (can’t get anyone who can/will make it for me) but I’m going to make do with what I have.  It will still be tight :-)   Flexibility work later today… See you in Chicago!!!

FRUSTRATED… 19 weeks from Jr Nationals

So i would like to be NOT injured for a little while to see how that works out for me… My back was doing pretty good (relatively speaking) then I got disgustingly sick last week.  So I missed 2 workouts.  Then I was bounding and hurt my right hip flexor so I missed another workout… I am trying to be patient and get back into it slowly but I was going so well :-( …Wednesday and today I did 30min cardio and about 30minutes of moderate weights (total body) and high reps.  I will do the same tomorrow and then try some versa climber sprints on Sunday…

I still plan on kicking butt in Chicago, I just have a little setback right now
