“off-season” diet

Meal1:

2 egg whites/1 whole egg scrambled

1/4 c oatmeal with lite soymilk

Meal 2:

sliced apple and dannon lite and fit yogurt

Meal 3:

medium sweet potato

mixed vegetables

baked chicken breast (3-4 oz)

Meal 4:

3 rice cakes with natural peanut butter

Meal 5:

1 c chicken and yellow rice

Meal 6:

1 sc protein powder, soymilk, and banana

So I finished butt-naked last at NPC Nationals… I came in harder/leaner than I ever have before but it wasn’t enough.  My routine went pretty good although you could hear a mouse pee on cotton in that ballroom while I performed.  I couldn’t get any crowd participation to save my life!  But I guess it was a learning experience.

I finished 3rd overall at the fall classic tri-fitness challenge.  Broke some personal records and had an awesome performance of my routine.

Prepping for 2008:

I’m not sure what NPC shows I will do next year. SUGGESTIONS???? I’m thinking 1 in the spring and 1 in the fall.

I will only do 1 complete tri-fitness show next year (Vegas in July) but i will do the obstacle course and fitness skills in both the spring and fall challenges.

That being said I think the 2 biggest changes for next year will be being leaner and getting more pageant-like onstage.  I feel like I wasn’t prepared for the extravagant make-up and costumes that I ws up against at NPC nationals.  So I will get new posing suits for next year as well as a new costume (once i come up with my theme for next year).

…After 3 days i’m tired of eating crap and i’m ready to train again! :-) …I’m forcing myself to NOT workout for the next 2 weeks because my body really needs a rest (and my knee hasn’t healed from the obstacle course).  I haven’t worked out the details of my "off-season" training (now until feb 1) but it will consist of me losing a lot of bodyfat so that when I get ready to carb deplete and manipulate water I want have as far to go.  I think this past show I lost a lot of weight and looked great but there was too much fluctuation from day to day.

Today is day 1 of the 2 day women’s tri-fitness competition.  I’m a little upset that I had to weigh in last night and not in the morning.  That was my fault for not paying more attention.  That being said I will just have to push 70lbs for reps on bench instead of the 65lbs I was hoping for.  Oh well… I had pancakes this morning!  They were the best thing ever!  We step on stage at 5 tonight so I will eat 2 more complete meals before then and then a small snack before I do my routine (haven’t decided what I should have though… I’m thinking a snickers bar is NOT the right decision LOL) …Although I’m pleased with my physique, I think I can push it farther before nationals next friday.  So I will be working out on Monday and doing cardio on tuesday before I leave tuesday night.  I will keep you posted if you keep me in your prayers!  take care!!

7 days at a time…

Nationals is 14 days from tonight!  But before that I have women’s tri-fitness next weekend so as weird as it may seem I’m not thinking about Dallas too much right now.  My diet is absolutely crazy but working and I probably won’t change anything until I get ready to carb load for next weekend.  My skin is thinning out and you can see separation in my quads without me flexing.  Still hoping to lose about another 4lbs (I thank my parents for my tush but I kinda need it to go away a little for the next 2 weeks) so the insane cardio is still a must for the next 6 days.  I hurt my hip flexor this past Wednesday so I’m a little nervous that it heels in time for next weekend (try doing a high kick or a press hold without your hip flexor).  I’m trying to keep my diet clean for this next show (I’m sick of chicken and broccoli 4xs a day!) and then see where I am before Dallas.

I get to eat myself sick in 16 days!!! (not that I’m counting LOL)
