So I haven’t been around for awhile. When summer came I got really busy and basically my workouts came to a halt. But that doesn’t mean I got out of shape. I was golfing 4-5 times a week. And I always walk (no carts for me) and carry my clubs. If this sounds like nothing, then you have probably never done it before. Granted, it’s not like lifting weights, but it’s still work.
Anyway, I bought this great book from Men’s Health call "Power Training" by Robert dos Remedios, MA, CSCS. I would recommend this book to anyone. I love his philosophy on working out. He has a great real life approach where his routines will help you focus on developing an athletic body instead of one for show. No offense to bodybuilders. I’m not saying you aren’t athletic, just that both approaches have different types of goals. I don’t plan on ever entering any shows, but would love to excel even more at sports.
So I’ve been motivated to start training again. I can’t wait to see how the first 12 weeks go. Now if only I could expand my home gym a bit. I just need to get a house with a good sized basement.
