I hit a new "best" on deadlifts…  405 for 15 reps.  Hoping for 20 reps soon!

Thanks to everyone who looked at my little tread here. 
 
With the 2009 shows behind me, I can relax and I am happy.  I was hoping for a little better at the TU, but 5th out of 12 is pretty good, especially coupled with the win at the NPC Atlantic City the week before (where I think I got into my best shape ever), and the overall at the FAME Atlantic City show2 weeks earlier.
This has been a rewarding chapter of my BB life.  The Middleweights at this year’s TU were great, with Allen Biley and Jeff Rodriguez (sp?) in the 1 and 2 spots, making the top 5 was even harder than I was expecting. 
The TU is a very difficult show in that the weigh-in is Thursday and the Prejudging is Friday, and very late Friday night.  Making and maintaining condition in this time frame is harder than you would think and you really begin to learn your body.  Personally I think I was a little flat for the prejudge, but who cares now.
This is also a very fun show, the competition is great, the atmosphere is intense but friendly, it is professionally run, and brings a lot of attention to our sport of natural bodybuilding.  I do sometimes compete in other organizations besides the NPC, but I think there is no question that
- - THIS IS THE BEST NATURAL SHOW THERE IS - -
and this should be the goal of every natty guy.
The guy that won the overall, Wendall Floyd, will be a solid IFBB <202 Pro for sure and will make us natty guys proud.
Anyway, it was really a pleasure to go through it all again this year.  At 37 years old, I think I may make one more run at it; so here I am a mere 52 weeks out from my next show…  Got to go get my Cardio in!

OK now just a few hours away from the NPC Team Universe…  Mens Pre Judging starts at 6 tonight…  I am so Nervous, but also glad things are almost over…

This time friday night I will be on the stage in Tribecca for the NPC Team Universe.  I am so nervous and excited.  I hope to bring the momentum from Atlantic City to New York.

Feeling good!!!  I have been in "prep" mode since April/May and I am now 1 week away from tne NPC Atlanic City Show and 2 weeks out from the Team Universe.  I am not totally happy with everything, but I am pleased with the overall result thus far.

Interestingly, my weight is lower than it has ever been this far out from a show.  Fortunately, my strength is holding up, 405 x 10 deadlifts yesturday, 140lb dumbells on flat press for 5 2 days ago.

Now I head into the "Red Zone."  I just have to try to stay on track and not fall apart.  The competition will be really tuff, but whatever happens, if I bring the best version of my body to the stage, I will be happy.
