Back Injury
Recently, I have been trying to cut down and for some odd reason I still continued to keep lifting heavy. Bad decision because while doing dead lift a couple of weeks ago, I pulled some muscle in my lower back. It healed for a week till my next back work where i still was doing heavy on DB rows and pulled it again. Maybe its just my mentally that just kept me going for the same exact weight every time. I was so used to going or starting at a certain weight, that it was just automatic for me to pick it up. So now my lower back is now in serious pain. I have 7 more days left on my cutting and This time i am definitely going to take it easy. Another addition to my book of wisdom…..

One question, have you check your form?
When you do dead lifts do you move the weight near your legs or away? Do you use a belt? I do!
My point is that cut the intake should not affect your lifting capabilities, not that I’m aware of, it might affect other elements of endurance but if you are using bad form it will affect your in even more adverse way.
In addition Chris have you asked help to a physiotherapist for advice? There are lots of exercises your might like to try that target the lower back without compromising it. Remember to push your tailbone out while trying to keep your back straight not arched.
