A new Smallville Episode tonight!! w00t!
I A-D-O-R-E Clark!
Been a hard week other than that. Out of focus on food and training. Last two days have been better but missing my meals last weekend threw me for a serious head trip that I am only now recovering from.
More late, gotta get ready to leave work.
Ciao!

and missed my workout. =( Ordinarily I’m up on time but I have started turning my alarm clock face down so I don’t see it, otherwise I’ll wake up periodically during the night to make sure I’m not over sleeping. Well, apparently it’s working, I’m sleeping (though still waking but not as often) more. I have to fight the temptation to turn it over and look at it. Anyway, woke up an hour and a half later than usual due to changing my alarm yesterday and not remember to set it back. This weekend, we’re going to find a clock with multiple alarm settings.
So, no news to report. I’m training and knocking out my cardio tonight instead. Which is cool for a change of pace. I was exhausted yesterday. My co-workers had a happy hour which I decided to go to. While the nachos and hot wings were passing, I drank water w/crystal lite (I carry the little individual servings in my purse). After I got home I QUICKLY at dinner and was in bed by 7:45 pm. DO NOT PASS GO, NO $200 FOR YOU!
Today the food is going well, another low carb day. I still feel a slight bit tired but nothing like yesterday. Looking forward to resting more over the weekend. If the weather holds tomorrow, we’re going to go to the Buick Invitational at Torrey Pines, if not…I’M LOUNGING ON THE COUCH LIKE A CAT (after training and cardio, of course).
Sunday we’re almost guaranteed rain (if not thunderstorms) so it’ll be a skate day as well, cardio only.
Nothing else to report really, just time to eat again so I’m off to the cocina. Have a great weekend, be safe!

Ps. Thanks Trish, you’re a total doll! XO

I will NOT reply. I made it easy for you, I SPELLED IT. End of rant!
How is everyone today? I’m feeling great, very tired but overall pretty good. Today I hit the snooze for about 45 minutes before I finally got up, not a good sign. Glad tomorrow is Friday, a few more days of this 3:30 am madness and I’d contemplate quitting….my job! =) J/k.
Today I hit cardio, 35 minutes this morning, 35 more tonight. I also trained calves. Last night I did my cardio which consisted of walking on the treadmill with jump rope intervals, mountain climbers, burpees and jump lunges. At the end of 35 minutes I had managed to squeak out a measley 585 calories! I was tired, sweaty and HUNGRY. It’s crazy, I train harder as a figure chick than I did as a bodybuilder. ??? It’s fun though!
I went to the library last night to check out some material on plyometric training, found some good stuff. Now, I just need to find a location to hit the stairs at that’s open on the weekend. Now it’s looking like it’ll be the convention center until I find something else. Bummer is we’re supposed to have rain this weekend. =(
Low carbing today, so far so good. In fact, it’s time to eat again now! Ciao!

Ok, that ugliness is over, now back to your regularly scheduled cheerfulness!
I almost slept in but then something amost literally pulled me outta bed this morning. I knocked out 40 minutes of cardio, 40 more on tap for tonight along with some plyometric training. Today was hamstring/glute day and what a great workout it was! My hubby came along as my coach (I had to take myself out of ‘wife’ mode). It worked out really well. I did a few exercises I’ve not done in a while so I’m sure to be feeling this one. The intensity and focus was the biggest factor, not so much reps and weight (though those components were increased as well). My exercises included: Kneeling Cable Kickbacks, front squats, good mornings, vertical leg press, bulgarian squats, squat machine and db hamstring curls (100 reps for the burn). A few times I was seeing stars, stripes, asteroids, constellations, you name it. My hubby didn’t push me too hard but made sure I completed my reps and kept my rest periods short.
When I came home yesterday, I had a surprise waiting for me… NO, not roses (I hate roses, they’re so generic). I had two mirrors strategically placed (one in the entry way on the tile floor where the lighting is really good) and the other in the garage where I do my cardio and plyo training. They’re my “1/4 turn mirrors”! He’s helping…AND KEEPING ME AT HOME. (smile).
I’m feeling quite sparkely today, going be hurtin tomorrow but that’s something to worry about THEN. Taking the Glutamine and BCAA’s post workout has really been helping with the recovery.
Today is a medium carb day…loving the jasmine brown rice!
Off to contemplate my next victory in the gym…FRIDAY…shoulders!! w00t!

No, I’m not suffering from carb depletion! =)
Not feeling too chipper today, the hubby hit me with a convo last night that I wasn’t expecting and it threw me off my game today. My training/contest prep is taking up too much of my life. I still don’t know what to think so no comment, for now.
I’ve officially started training twice a day, most body parts twice a week. Back is split between upper and lower areas on different days with MINIMAL weight still.
Today was arm day, I trained triceps first then hit biceps pretty good. I am still able to rep out with the 25 lbs (which I haven’t used in months). It’s nice to see my strength STILL isn’t diminishing (hug to Gina for that). I did 3 exercises for back, 2 sets each for 20 reps with 20 seconds rest in between. For calves I did 6 sets of bodyweight standing calves for 50 reps. I didn’t have good mental focus so I only knocked out 35 minutes of cardio, the other half is scheduled for this evening. I’m skipping abdominal training this week, will resume next week with a focus on lower abs and obliques. I’ve also started a new calf training program….we’ll see in four weeks if it’s worth my efforts (fingers crossed).
I’m going to take Friday off from training (while still doing my cardio in two sessions). I wear a heart rate monitor while doing cardio and today it took 5 minutes for my heart rate to return to normal. That’s always a sign of being tired/over trained so this old girl needs some rest. It’ll have to wait until then though because tomorrow is Glutes and Hammies…NOT TO BE SKIPPED.
It has taken quite a bit of effort but I am FINALLY up to my gallon of water a day. Ya’ll don’t know but this is huge, this has been a struggle for me for years. It’s funny how when you set your mind to do something, everything else starts to fall in line. I decided back in October that I would do whatever it took to bring my best me to the Stage in May and all the things that have been so hard for me are becoming easier every day.
Been searching online for a good location to start incorporating stadium style training…hard to find in SD. =( I WILL find something for Saturday, IF the weather holds. Of course, NOW it wants to start raining every weekend.
Enough ranting. Off to have lunch.
Make it a great Tuesday!

Had a really good weekend. Got the progress photos done and did some posing practice while being filmed. (progress photos have been uploaded). While posing, Meriza Deguzman and Pete Ciccone came in with a client (Molly, she’s ADORBALE) and watched and critiqued. Meriza gave me some really cool tips on my quarter turns and model poses that made me look like a pro with an amateur body! =) If you didn’t know, she has a video coming out in February but you can pre order it on her site right now (www.merizafigure.com). It features posing practice, make up tips, etc. Take a look if you can’t attend one of her clinics here in SD. During my posing session, Pete and Meriza did critique me and mention what I already know (MY LEGS NEED MORE CONDITIONING). I’m not distressed over that, having lost so much fat off of them, I can better see what I have AND DON’T have to work with. It was actually quite helpful having them tell me that. (Thanks!!) Well, I’m very pleased with my progress over the past two weeks. I can hardly believe I’m comfortably into the 130s now and still feeling very energized and motivated. I have a little over 120 days for the CAL, and I’m already where I wanted to be. I can’t imagine what I’m going to look like then!
Today is a low carb day and I’m excited! Maybe that sounds retarded but I know it gives my body a chance to tap further into my fat stores and that is just exciting to me! Truly, I’m loving my ‘diet’. This morning I trained shoulders, back, quads. Had a really awesome workout. Had to keep the weights lower on the shoulders than usual for my heavy day but compensated with more reps. Felt really good (looked pretty cool too). I’m going to try to get some video footage training at the gym here soon, we’ll see how that goes (please, don’t hold your breath though). =)
Well, it’s time too eat, the food alarm went off. Make it a great day! ~Chocol8~
Ps. Good morning Trish!! =)

Happy Friday! It’s been an awesome morning here in Southern Cali. It started like this: 3:30 am…alarm (heading for the snooze…oh wait, pop the fat burner), skip the snooze, head for the shower. Next, drink, drink, ok dang, forgot the Flameout… Good morning honey! Yep, love you tooo BYE!!
At the gym, cardio was a breeze, 15 minutes on the Gauntless, 50 on the treadmill (total caloric expenditure: 800+ calories). While eating Meal 1, practiced quarter turns and model turns, I swear to high heck that I have 3 left feet when I start those model turns with my right foot. NOt sure what that’s about but I’ll keep At it, if other girls can do, I HAVE TO BE ABLE TO.
Next was training, I decided to do an upper body blast with various body weight squats and lunges thrown in to keep the heart rate up…too damned effective. I was sucking wind but happy. My shoulder felt really good today, only being a little tender so I took it really like (10 lbs was as heavy it got for anterior and lateral raises). I also hit biceps, triceps and middle/lower back.
Got home, meal #2…off to work. And here I be!
Thoughts on training this week:
I’ve begun focusing on conditioning and less on building, if I don’t have the size I need by now, it’ll have to wait until the off season. The workouts are actually harder and more intense that my bodybuilding training. I miss the days of lift heavy, hit a few reps (6-10) and call it good for 2 minutes. Now things B-U-R-N-N-N-N-N when training. =)( (that’s a hapy and sad face at the same time). I’m learning to dig deep within myself for the fortitude to press on and get those reps out (since I train alone, I’m my own voice in my ear saying 5 more reps (I ignore myself sometimes though, especially on quads). We’re working on this problem).
Heading into the weekend, I’m really antsy for Sunday’s progress photos. I don’t expect a huge change but my posing should be much better. I may be utilizing a different suit, my old BB suits are saggy in the butt now.
One thing I’m incorporating this week is filming myself doing model turns and 1/4 turns (no, I’m not posting this online). I need to see what I’m presenting to the judges, right now I’m still not comfortable even though I have positive feedback. I’ll have updates next week!
Make it a fabulous weekend!

Yesterday was good training/cardio day. I was able to drag my tired tail back onto the treadmill last night at 8:15 pm and finish up my last bit of cardio (30 minutes) before my last meal and bed time. A sistah was TIRUD!! I’m happy to say though that I pushed through it and got it done.
Had a great cardio session this morning, with light ab and calf training. I banged out all 65 minutes at the gym, had meal #1 then practiced quarter & model turns for 20 minutes.
Today is just cardio so I’m done for the day. It’ll be nice to go home this evening and just RELAX. Tomorrow is shoulders but we’ll see, it still feels rather uncomfortable.
I’m very pleased with my progress so far into this journey. It’s well with the monetary investment to actually learn what works for a different type of training/look.
I ditched the broccoli yesterday having asparagus and zucchini instead. Woke up rather tight this morning, not very dry (had a little fat before bed) but overall pretty good. I can’t wait for Sunday for the photos, they should be pretty good!
Well, work beckons and so does meal #3, make it a great day!

I completed my 35 minutes of a.m. cardio this morning, was super easy for some reason. I spent an hour configuring my heart rate monitor with my Fit Test results so my readings would be more accurate (calories). I squeeked out almost 350 calories, not bad for a cruise session.
I then had meal #1 and headed to train glutes, calves and hamstrings. Ended up throwing in quad work too, was a superb workout considering I was training alone. I’ll finish up my 30 minutes of cardio tonight after we go tanning.
Maybe I’m partially happy because it’s a medium carb day?! Lol, I hope I’m not that DESPERATE for carbs!
Not much else going on today so I’ll keep it short and sweet. Hope to check in tomorrow!

ETA: I think I tweaked my shoulder on Monday cause when I raise it out laterally, it hurts. That’s soooo not cool. Made training back very hard yesterday (with the whopping 3 exercises, 3 sets I did do with about 1/4 of the weight I used to use). We’ll see what happens on Friday (shoulder day, may skip that workout). Keeping my fingers.

Well, that went well! =) I picked two of my favorite child hood colors. Nope, no hints, you’ll have to wait about 3 weeks until I model them! =)))
Had a good time, the guy who did the fitting, Brian, he’s pretty cool. I like his energy and he’s very flexible. Gina’s crazy, I got to see her colors for the Arnold…she’s gonna be purdy!
Gina and I talked about vegetables today because she was looking at me during the fitting and I’m bloated to all get out, so NOT purdy. Seems that broccoli does it to her too, I’ve had broccoli for the last two days in LARGE quantities. So, I’m going to switch back to salad with basalmic vinegar, asparagus, zucchini, spinach and kale and see if I can’t tighten back up by photo update time on Sunday.
But it’s 8:45 pm and I’ve gotta be outta bed by 4:30 am to start my day with a.m. cardio so I’m bidding you all adieu (I’ve gotta finish up my last 30 minutes before I hit the pillow tonight).
