Well, I survived the holiday party last night due largely in part to them NOT serving any time of dessert!
My plan to eat before we arrived worked perfectly. The hubster has fixed grilled chicken breasts and sauteed asparagus for dinner. Problem was, by the time they served dinner at the party, 3 hours had passed so my engine was churning full steam ahead towards the buffet line. They had turkey, smoked ham, mashed potatoes, rice pilaf, turkey dressing, gravies up the wahzoooo, salad with sugary and creamy dressings, cranberry sauce, steamed veggies. I hoped for a salad w/2 tbsp italian dressing, steamed veggies (which we later tasted BUTTER ON), two slices of ham (about 3 ounces) and 1/4 cup (or so) of the rice. That and 4 cups of coffee. The rice was EXCELLENT so I had to refrain from the second pass.
Was a great evening, my sweetie look dashing (as always)!
Now, if I can hold this diet for 2 more days, Gina should be giving me a revision on Sunday (I hope it involves MORE food)!
Make it a great weekend!

That kinda keeps things in perspective for me!
This has been a fairly good week (minus attack on the Pringles can last night). Training has been going well, the hubby and I have been training together more in the mornings which is a DEFNITE plus.
Been doing some things to prep myself for the ‘fine detail’ demands I’ll have to meet at the show. We started ‘tanning’ this week. Even though I’m darkly toned, my skin is very blotchy, especially on my abs. In just the 5 sessions I’ve had, I’ve noticed that it’s evened out DRAMATICALLY. Looks rather nice if I do say so myself.
I’ve also started skin brushing (about a month ago) which has many wonderful health benefits including daily exfoliation of the skin. One of the most noticeable benefits is that my skin is so soft!! Also, I’ve made an after shower oil blend that nourishes and moisturizes my skin without all of the additives and preservatives that you find in the store bought products.
Let’s see…oh yes, the glorious shoes…glad we don’t have a hidden camera for these ‘adventures in grace’!
Tonight we’re goiing to a holiday party for my husband’s squadron. I’m eating BEFORE we go, like IMMEDIATELY before we walk out of the door. I hope to be able to slide by with just a salad and maybe split a dessert w/TJ.
Took today off from training, too exhausted to get out of bed early. So instead, I made the hubby breakfast in bed before work (an omelette with all kinds of goodies and whole wheat pancakes (from scratch)). Got big smiles in return.
Life is good.

Here it is, Monday the 26th of November and I’m feeling great!
I survived the long weekend without gaining a single pound! I’m quite pleased with the self discipline I was able to exhibit in the face of so much time off and so many goodies begging to be baked with my new KitchenAid Professional Series Mixer! I did whip out some homemade waffles for the kiddo on Saturday and Whole wheat pancakes for the hubby last night though (for his post workout meals during the week).
I had a good time on Saturday morning at the Plaza Bonita Mall (NOT) trying to find my Stage/hooker shoes. I finally found them, I was AMAZED at how tall those darned things are! Luckily they’re comfortable. This isn’t my stage pair, this is my practice around the house pair. I guess my hubby really is 5′11″ cause with those shoes, we’re eye to eye and my son who’s 6′2″ isn’t soooo tall anymore! He said he’s going to hide them…and I’ll hide the Xbox!
I check in with my trainer this week for an adjustment on my food since I went up in weight though I still feel like I’m getting leaner as well as my clothes are getting bigger and bigger still. Soon I’ll have virtually no work slacks I can wear anymore, most of them slide off without a belt.
Today’s diet is going well, no complaints. It’s kinda nice to have Thanksgiving behind me now, I’m back eating on schedule (speaking of which, it’s time again). I feel a lot more in control.
I trained delts today as well as did 35 minutes of cardio (I’ll pick up 15 minutes tonight before bed). We’re all getting excited at the gym, the Excalibur competition is this Saturday. We’ve got about 5-8 people from World Gym/619Muscle competing so needless to say, we’ll bring home most of the trophies (again)! =0)
Meal #4 is calling, make it a great day peeps!

Hey now! I’m back after a two week sabatical (has it REALLY been THAT long?)! Wow, you know it’s bad when your blog sends you an email reminder that you haven’t visited in a while!
Been busy with just life stuff, the hubby is back from his two weeks in Hawaii (such a tough job) (smirk). It’s nice to have my better half home again.
All is well, just getting ready for Thanksgiving tomorrow. Nothing special planned aside from my mom coming to visit. We have our menu and don’t cringe but this is it:
Cornish Game Hens, baked Sweet potato, grilled asparagus for me, green beans for everyone else. Dessert: Fat free, sugar free jello w/sugar free cool whip. That’s it, that’s all. Nothing else will be allowed to enter the door (except for a small macaroni casserole for my son). I’m actually quite pleased with our plans this year, I will NOT gain any weight this week.
Tomorrow we still plan on hitting cardio at 5 am when the gym opens.
Wishing everyone a very happy and safe Thanksgiving! Stay focused and keep hitting it hard over the weekend!

I’m realizing that it really helps if you have a great support team (supporters, friends, family) but if you have COMPLETE confidence in your trainer, the sky is truly the limit.
Even though I don’t see mine but once a week or so and we haven’t started the in the gym sessions yet, just knowing that she’s at the helm, I worry about NOTHING. I don’t second guess my food, training, supplements, NOTHING. She put peanut butter on my nutrition plan and I haven’t had peanut butter since I was about 6 years old. I’m like…ok, peanut butter it is. I don’t really like the stuff but it just goes to show what we can overcome mentally when all of the factors are optimal.
The thing I’ve had in my favor is that I hired someone I had a chance to get to know on a semi personal level instead of just looking around the gym and grabbing someone who looked like they knew what they were talking about it. My money and I suffer from separation anxiety so I’m not going to give my hard earned dollars to everyone. My success thus far has been largely factored by my trust in her and her knowledge.
If you’re looking for a trainer, hire someone you can trust implicitly with the details of your prep (contest or just general health). A good track record behind them is nice but if your personalities don’t mesh or you feel uneasy, keep moving, trainers are a dime a dozen but if you find your best match…you’ll soar!

I’ve been using his sytem now for about 5 months and all in all I’m very happy with it. More info can be found here. In short, the bulk of it is just the bag and containers that come with it for sorting and toting your meals. Like I said, there’s a link above if you’re more curious about all the program offers.
I purchased it because at one point I had a ‘feed bag’ so big it had wheels on it. I needed something more convenient and not quite so bulky (I work in a corporate office, can’t be wheeling a pull cart behind me). What I like most about it probably is that fact that it has a food timer that you can set for intervals. This has been a life saver for me! It’s loud, annoying and persistent, aka PERFECT!
Is it worth $60 + shipping? For me, just the timer and the convenience of the bag, I’d almost say yes. For someone who’s just starting out, it’s probably a GREAT investment because the online program offers food suggestions, portion sizes, etc.
I’m hoping they start selling some of the components separately, otherwise I’ll be carrying a regular cooler again soon (the bag is taking a BEATING).
Here’s a photo of my Meal #4 combination, it’s cool because I ALWAYS know which containers are mine in the fridge (my hubby eats as often as do so there’s no more accidental wrong food grabs on the way out the door).
Yeah I wrote the meal numbers on them, it’s easier to know which one to grab and throwin the microwave!

Training totally ROCKED! =) I did 30 minutes of cardio at home (was sucking wind on the spinning bike doing some sprints). I’ll have to finish up the rest of the time after work. Hit arms VERY effectively using 10-8-6-15 reps w/3 exercises for bis/tris. Then 3 exercises for lower lats and that’s all she wrote. More on that in my TP Supplement Log.
Got a busy day ahead but I’m feeling great, very focused and determined. Rome wasn’t built in one day…neither is LaLa.
Make it a great day!

Side note, my husband came to the gym with me today. He was like…wow honey, you’re really starting to look a lot leaner! =) Yeah, my upper body will do that…my legs however…I dunno, we have a machette in the garage…

Hope everyone had a great weekend! Mines was pretty good, lots of lounging around the house and just relaxing for a change! It was awesome!
Trained shoulders (heavy) w/LeLe today. Wowzers, that girl…she’s got some great intensity and focus! Thanks Le for another great session! I’ll have boulders for shoulders yet! =) I started with 40 minutes of cardio (20 minutes on a 15% incline treadmill walk and then 20 minute intervals on the elliptical machine). I had a chance to eat breakfast while LeLe did her cardio, pretty cool eh?
So far, the diet today is on track (much better than on the weekends).
I’ll update my thermophoric log shortly. Train hard and stay focused!

Yepper, 200 days from today is when I step on stage at my first Figure Show! Lol, I have issues with counting things, bear with me.
We did cardio at the gym this morning, 30 minutes on the treadmill walkind at different elevations and speed throughout. Then I switched to 10 minutes on the Gauntlet concentrating on glutes, that got my heart rate right on up there. Felt good to sweat again.
I will be stretching here in about an hour, just finished a meal so that needs to settle a bit. I sent the hubby off to ride his motorcycle with the guys for a while, he looked all happy. Too funny.
I’m still trying to get my diet schedul down for the weekends because I wake up so much later. I end up eating almost every 2 hours instead of 3. I guess this could be worse but it just seems like I’m constantly shoveling food in my face.
Tomorrow is shoulder day, woot! I like training shoulders. Tomorrow I’m going to do my cardio at the gym so I can change up the intensity, I also need to bang out my bicycle sprints (not so happy about those).
Be back tomorrow!

The photo in my siggy is from 1.5 years ago, I don’t quite look that yummy anymore (yet). My weight there, was 160 lbs, during which time I was still lifting more for bodybuilding while incorporating almost NO cardio.
After my hubby came back from his first deployment he demanded a lot of my time and subsequently my training, which was top notch for 6 months, took a dive for about 5 months. After he came home from his most recent deployment, he promised me to not interfere with my training, not only was I very unhappy but looking so badly I wouldn’t even undress in the same room with him. Training is as much a necessity to me as oxygen, I LOVE it. We now balance family AND training, THINGS ARE MUCH BETTER.
Now, we’re on the road bringing a much better, tighter package to the hubby here in about 6 months….
Watch out now!
