Back from the Tournament of Champions!!
Sunday, September 23rd, 2007Oh my, where to start?! What a kick butt great time! Wow, that day could’ve stretched into a few more and it would have been fine by me!
We’ll start with us: We left San Diego at 9:22 am, yeah I know, it’s a bit exacting but that’s what time it was! We got to Anaheim at 11;05 so we barely missed any of the show at all (5 minutes or so). The only class we found to be faily impressive were the Middle Weights. It just wasn’t a very big or good show but fun. Here’s what the guys thought of the prejudging…
For the amateur Figure ladies, Olga Torres looked great as always though I think she’s stuck at this level for a while until she hardens up her bottom half a bit more (but for her age, she looks AWESOME!).
Now about the pros: Gina Aliotti BROUGHT IT proper! (congrats girl!). There was NO doubt at all that she would repeat a win last night. Our friend Meriza DeGuzman although she was QUITE a bit smaller than everyone else HELD HER OWN and got called out in the prejuding in the top 6 (she qualified for the Olympia)! Not bad for her ProDebut! (congrats AGAIN!).
I’ve never seen her onstage, only behind the scenes helping her girls at their shows. I also loved Tanji Johnson’s physique and stage presence. Talk about relaxed and confident! My other favorite was Nancy Georges though she didn’t place that well. It was nice to see her on stage and wow is she tall (I love it!).
We had a great time watching the show, me, my Sweetie (TJ), PD Devers, Luc, Brian, TMichael & Derrick Farnsworth. It’s amazing how much trouble a group of guys can get into….
I had NO idea. My son and husband can’t hang out unchapperoned anymore! =0)
Between the prejuding and evening show we headed over to the Fitness Grill for lunch. We had the pleasure of also dining with John Scott and Tanji Johnson. Good times, good times! Brian and TMichael came late so we (Me and TJ) lagged back with them so they could eat while Tanji and Gina went back to prep.
After the ladies grabbed their wins we all headed over Gina’s favorite spot, the Cheesecake Factory for dinner. With a party of 16 folks, it was super fun (and loud)!
I have to say that Gina is a brat, but in a totally good way and PD has no sense whatsoever (love ya!). Pete, Derrick, Meriza and a few others opted for a quiter side of the restaurant but came over to say hey before they left.
Wow, I had a simply wonderful time! Oh yeah, John and Dena (sp?) came to evening show and dinner, he’s S-W-O-L-E!!! =)
I’ll post photos after I get back from doing cardio of some of the crazy folks.
Gotta go get ready for the Olympia next weekend (and it gets better?!). Here’s the love of my life…
XOXOXO

Ps. As a little side note on myself, I did a testimonial photoshoot a few weeks ago for the company who makes Thermophoric (Spectra Force Research (http://www.sfrsupplements.com/)). I was told last night by the photographer that they will be using the ad in Flex magazine. =)
Getting ready for the Tournament of Champions Tomorrow
Friday, September 21st, 2007L-Boogie’s back!
Tuesday, September 18th, 2007It’s been forever and day but…
Monday, September 10th, 2007Here I am one day before the love of my life returns from deployment and I’m rather pleased with my progress. Seems my body likes my current weight very much (150 lbs) or maybe I’m just comfortable with it subconsciously. Dunno but I’m done stressing with it, actually I was done about 3 weeks ago. I had to take a breather, step back and evaluate my priorities, my health or looking good. I chose the first option, made some modifications to my diet and am still maintaining a good weight with decent leanness.
It’s about 3:15 am, couldn’t sleep anymore so I’m up and contemplating lifting AND cardio today instead of just cardio as originally planned. I think I’m going to lift, just because I can! (smile).
So, how do I feel one day away from my hubby’s return? Quietly excited. It’s kinda weird, last time I was all nervous and doing STRANGE stuff. Now, it’s quiet knowing that he’s home and will probably never be deployed again. There’s a certain gentle peace (with that mild skip of the heartbeat when I think about seeing him again). Ok, lol, this sounds like a love story!
Back to training: I hit legs yesterday, had a good one. It’s been off and on for them. My right knee - oh, there’s the alarm clock, brb - ok, as I was saying, it’s been bothering me when I take a few days off from training legs. This didn’t start until I did that really long walk. Hmmmm. Hopefully it’ll pass, I can do without having to skip legs (of all things). I must say though, the glute exercises have been helping ‘lift’ the derriere (which I’m ecstatic about).
Oh, yesterday I had a photo shoot for a potential spot for a supplement company. It was a cool thing to do, whether I’m chosen or not I really appreciate the opportunity. I don’t think I take very good photos but maybe they’ll think differently. Either way, i’m a happy girl and I give God all the credit for it!
Make it a great day ya’ll!!
XOXO,
Chocol8 da happy one
