Things have been going great in the gym. I’m much happier now that I’ve gone back to pushing ‘real’ weight around. =) I just like lifting heavy, I’m not smarting for it yet. I’m trying to work in a bit higher rep range than in times past, THAT’S hard!
Did legs today, got them pretty good. Shoulders yesterday, not bad either. I couldn’t budge the 540 on the leg press, was a bit embarrassing but considering I haven’t leg pressed AT ALL in 6 months, that’s not too surprising. I managed 6 reps with the 450 so I’ll work with that until I get some good reps out of it then move on up! NO cardio today, just yoga stretching tonight and back day tomorrow!! OH YEAH!
Tuesday was my high carb day but I had meetings yesterday that ran long and prevented me from eating a few meals so I had a few more carbs than usual to compensate. Today we’re back right on the time with the timing, supplementation and portions.
I weigh in tomorrow, uh-oh… I can’t complain though, I’m very happy with my progress in such a short time so I’ll keep plodding away.

Hope everyone had a great weekend! I did! I trained Legs yesterday, what a workout! it felt really good to get back to some heavier routines and stop with this light weight stuff. My weights are nowhere near where there were 8 months ago but muscle memory will kick in soon enough.
Today I did Chest, Triceps and cardio today. Was another good one. I knocked out 250 kcals on the cardio and have 150 more this evening. It’s day four of the low carb routine so I’m high carbing tomorrow! I look forward to those almost as much as I do back day.
I haven’t posted any progress photos because I want to surprise my husband with the before (he left for deployment) and afters (2 months progress) or at least midpoints. I’m taking them at home and they will be input all at once so stay tuned.
In the mean time, the fat is coming off, my abs actually are visible again! I’m truly excited what’s happening. It’s been a minute since I’ve felt good about my physique, it’s nice to be back among the living!

I kicked ASS today in the gym! =) Ok, I’m feeling myself but it was an AWESOME workout for back. One of the best I’ve had in a very long time. Back is my favorite body part so it’s always a treat when I get to train it. I got the biceps pretty good too! I like Saturdays at our gym cause everyone is there, Gina Aliotti, Pete Ciccone, Meriza DeGuzman, PDevers and others. They are such a cool group of people. I got two thumbs up from Gina on my progress, Meriza too! Yeah, it was a good day. I’m starting to lean out nicely. Speaking of leaning out, my new shipment of Lean Out came yesterday so I’ve officially added that back in the rotation. I’m ordering a few more BI products to try out, I’ve been VERY happy with what I’ve used so far. Tomorrow is leg day, that’ll be fun! Chocol8

Working a 9/80 schedule has its benefits on the short weeks! First, I do NOT get to sleep in, I have to take my son to High School, meet my best friend at the gym to watch her pose and do some training myself, run errands and pick up the kiddo from school. Oh, I said benefits….PERSONAL TIME!! I can drive my little car with the sunroof open enjoying fresh air listening to Kenny Chesney and Martina McBride (yes, I like country music. And?).
I’ve taken the last two days off from training just to catch up on rest. The carb cycling has me a bit more tired than usual and after having gotten violently ill about two months ago from over exertion…a break was necessary!. On the bright side, I’m leaning out nicely, nothing dramatic yet (still working on those pictures) but I’m pleased. My new shipment of Lean Out should be here Monday which will kick things up 500 DEGREES instantly.
On my training, I’ve been combining body parts in order to reduce my bodybuilding type workouts but I’m seeing that I’m not liking the visual progress (or lack there of) so I’m back to each part once a week, hittin’ it hard! Just the thought makes me wanna go train tonight but I can wait one more day.
I’ve also been exploring some other avenues of exercise at home, I do spinning for cardio some evenings on the wonderful spin bike my hubby bought me (thank you!! XOXO). Then there’s that daggumed treadmill at the rec, I hate that thing. Can you say BORING? I’ve been yoga, that ish is hard, nothing relaxing about it; I don’t care what anyone says. The good thing about it is that I’m learning how to stretch and elongate my muscles so I’ll minimize my complaints here. My favorite videos so far are by Karen Voight, she’s always been extremely attractive to me physically, her lines are beautiful. As she’s gotten older, she’s put on a little more muscle yet maintained a very lean look which makes her look even better! Classy!! I’ve also started with the Lotte Berk workouts with the Winsor Pilates, I have favorites from each so I mix them up to keep from getting bored (short attention span here). Next week I’ll be evaluating The Bar Method workouts which are very similar to Lotte Berk and some others but more on that later.
Well, enough of my mindless ramblings, I’m off to finish my lunch and get back to work. Make it a great day!

Well, Happy Monday, only not really. It was an awesome weekend! I was able to keep the negativity away, the drama down and spent a lot of time at home for a change. What a relaxing change of pace. I decided to take Saturdays off from training/ at least lifting anyway. I think it’s been unofficially declared International Leg Day at our gym. I actually slept in until 7 am (that’s a first in MONTHS!!).
Sunday I trained, chest, shoulders, abs and calves and did 30 pathetic minutes of cardio. I was soooo not feeling training, at least not the cardio aspect.
Today was much better this morning, I trained legs doing a lot of reps and sets on low to moderate weight exercises. I think my weakest leg exercises are the back and hack squats. I can do the front squats well as well as the Zercher squat (which I love for the quads). I superset Hacks with Sissy’s…on muther I was thinking bad thoughts. I’m heading to the rec center this evening for cardio, walking on the treadmill, my legs are fairly tired so I’ll take it easy and not tax them too hard on the incline.
Tomorrow I train two of my faves: Back and Bis!! (happy dance).
I’m on day two of my low carb cycling phase, 4 days low, 5th high and then start over. I can tell this isn’t going to be a cake walk…speaking of cake-my bad, carbs. Sorry.
Not much else to report…oh wait, I took my measurements this morning. I wanted to puke, I’ve gotten so outta shape in 8 months of irregular training. That’s ok, just more motivation to snap back!
Ciao!

Well yesterday was fairly uneventful as far as Birthdays go. I trained in the a.m. and did cardio (45 minutes) in the evening. I barely made it though, my son and I are Smallville fans and he turned disc one from Season 5… I watched 30 minutes and then kept my commitment to myself for the day. I felt so much better as a result.
This morning I trained arms and calves (no weight). Nothing special about the workout, I’ll do cardio this evening before settling in for a little X-Box live Halo action with the kiddo.
Have a great weekend all!! What I have planned? The usual suspects…laundry, cooking on the bbq, house cleaning, planning my week, making JP+ contacts and of course TRAINING!!
XOXO!!
