This morning I made it to the gym a little later than usual (5:10 am) so that negated cardio. Instead I opted for a very fast paced Shoulders/Back/Abs/Calves and Thigh Workout. By the time 45 minutes had lapsed, I was pretty dunnnnn.
I’ve been watching the Vince Gironda video and implemented the drag curls. That was 2 days ago, my biceps are STILL feeling the effects which is awesome because it’s very hard to get my biceps to FEEL as if they’ve been worked. Not bad considering I was only curling 45 lbs barbell.
Today for thighs I did the ballet squat for a total of 100 reps and 5 sets of 20 reps for calves (standing calf raises, no weight, just for pump). For back I used only 4 exercises (lat pulldown, db rows, racer dive pulls (another Vince Gironda move) and straight arm pullovers. Shoulders involved targeted the lateral head primarily with minimal work on rear delts.
Cardio tonight will be interval training on the treadmil, lunges and hills.
Tomorrow is…I dunno, we’ll see what the Lord has put on my heart. I should start a regular routine next week. Moreon that later!
XOXO!

Today’s training was very good, I did more legs (50-60% intensity for 3 exercises worked as a giant set), then proceeded to annihilate chest and lite work on abs.
I mananged to get it all done in 35-40 minutes. I then headed upstairs to the cardio room for 35 minutes on the elliptical. I’m doing cardio tonight since someone forgot part of her lunch and had a improvise (it’s not like it wasn’t prepped last night either).
I’m pleased with my progress thus far, I’m back down into my pants I couldn’t wear 3 weeks ago. I’ll get some photos uploaded here. I’m kinda embarrased on where I digressed to due to life demands and complancency. But, looking forward, my training is now returned to Quadrant II (those of you familiar w/Stephen R Covey know what I’m talking about).
Been working on my core values and mission statements for my home life, future personal training business and health goals. It’s interesting to sit down and actually think of what ethics and values you govern yourself by. Just bringing that into focus gives one an improved sense of clarity and mission. Pretty cool stuff.
Well, lunch is over and I must get back to work. I’ll see ya tomorrow!

Wow, it was a whirlwind of a weekend! I don’t remember much besides the pint of Haagen Daaz on Saturday…more on that later!
Went to the Cal Comp in Culver City this weekend to help my girl back stage. I never realized it was so much work doing all the figure stuff! She looked AWESOME though the judges said she wasn’t quite full enough, too striated. =( I had a lot of fun and learned more hands on about what the judges are looking for, how to prep for figure, biting the suits in place, etc.). It was both fun and education. I also got to meet Nancy Georges (though she didn’t remember me from Live Journal).
We had about 4 competitors representing from our gym, each brought home a trophy, 3 of them (first place). Luc was up against some good mature muscle but fought his way in for a respectful 5th place placing. He was a great poser too, I enjoyed his routine. Pete was INCREDIBLE, he’s GOT MASS fo days along with great symmetry!
I think I’m all but converted to doing figure now…sigh, we’ll see how it goes!
Ciao for now!
ETA: I was using Hot Rox last week for my thermogenic, that stuff rocks (BUT IS TOO STRONG FOR THIS OLD GIRL!!) I can’t take two without feeling like I’m ready to run a marathon. Right now I’m trying Thermoforic (I’ll correct the spelling later). I think I like this one!

I’m feeling yesterday’s training session! I went a lot lighter on weights and worked in a higher rep range than usual. I have a zero pain threshhold for legs.
I did shoulders and abs today, had a really good workout. I’m hoping to get around to cardio tonight though it doesn’t look promising. Since my quads are sore I will walk on the treadmill (if I have time) instead of cycling.
I tried the Trioplex peanut butter cookie today instead of the oatmeal rasisin (considering I really don’t like peanut butter). Also, I grilled my chicken breasts last night on the barbee…they came out perfectly (finally!). The key is to slooooow cook w/indirect heat after lightly searing.
Tomorrow is upper body again, oh yeah!

Wow, I seem to be extra hungry today. Feeling pretty good though, my coworkers are surprised (as am I)!
I trained glutes and legs today. I did a very different routine than what I usually do for building bulk. It was rather fun but the burn, damn I hate that!
Pete told me I can have my cheat day on Saturday (after 2 weeks of hard dieting). I’m so excited!
I’m going to do my pilates tonight and do an recovery spinning sessin at home for 1/2 hour.
I’ll get some current photos up soon, probably tonight after watching some Smallville reruns (I love CLARK!!)

On Saturday my best friend had a posing training session before her big show this weekend. She looks FRIGGIN PHEMON!!
I’m so proud of her for her progress, dedication and hard work. It’s really impressive to see where she’s come from! I know she’s going to do very well this weekend.
As for me, training is going well, the diet even better. I’m getting into the routine of doing cardio every day. It’s hard to change the mindset, I’ve spent the last 8 years trying to get bigger, now I’m trying to streamline…which means more cardio. I’m starting to lean out a bit, I even feel comfortable in my sports bras again. I hate that jiggly stuff on my stomach. Eeewwww.
LeLe has given me a bit of a prescription for training glutes and slimming my hips (man, talk about your wide load). It’s amazing what a few months of little/no training has done. I’ve not been feeling very good about myself. =(
So, since I started my nutrition plan last week, I’ve lost 4 lbs (lots of water). I’m looking forward to my first cheat day here soon….
Ciao!
