Just A Thought

Tuesday, October 21st, 2008

Just a thought from the biggest loser:

"WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TODAY TO MAKE YOU FEEL PROUD?"

Wow, damned shame.  I can’t think of a thing that I did.  Gotta do better tomorrow.  What about you?

Moved To A New Gym

Friday, October 10th, 2008

Well, I started a new gym this week after the one that I was going to moved.  It’s called Fitness Advantage and it’s a really nice place.  Tons of treadmills and bikes "WITH TV’s"!  Yep, tv’s on every treadmill and bike!  Stair climbers, elipticals and those ski machine things which I’ve never used.  The ladies room is ok, pretty basic, but clean.  There’s a tanning room, so that tells you what the clientele is like. Yep, mostly people of an opposite ethnicity than me.  Now I’m used to being looked at when I work out, but I mean these people actually "stare" when I’m lifting.  The first day that I went, I worked the almighty arms (you & me SamCia :-) ), and there were two guys who came in but wouldn’t even come to the back where the free weights are because I was back there! I guess in their world women don’t work out in the back of the gym where the men are. WTF? I was already getting an attitude because of the staring, but that was really the icing on the cake.  I was  ready to pack my s@#t up to leave, and then this college kid came back there and asked me if we could do arms "TOGETHER"! Yep, I had an awesome workout with an awesome partner.  I guess if I keep in mind what I’m there for, that should be motivation enough.  But having people shy away from you because you’re female and lifting heavy ass weights, all I can say is "their hatin’ is my  motivation". This is such a crazy world that we live in and it just fascinates me that people are so self absorbed and insecure that they can’t even welcome someone else into their little space.  Oh well, legs tomorrow.  My ass will really give them something to stare at!

Thanks for letting me rant……………

LEG WORKOUT

Saturday, October 4th, 2008

Leg workouts can be exhausting if you work them hard and long enough, but for some reason my 3 sets of 12-15 reps with heavy weight just ain’t cutting it. So I decided to explore a new workout that was sent to me by a friend.  I just got done, and it went something like this:

Hack Squat = 5 sets of 20 reps with 2-45’s on each side

Leg Extension = 5 sets of 20 reps with 45 pounds, then 5 sets of single leg extensions with 45 pounds

Sled - 5 sets of 20 reps with 2 45’s, then 5 sets of 10 reps with 1-45 plate

Hamstring Curls = 5 sets 0f 20 reps with 35 pounds

Calf Raises (Smith Machine) 5 sets of 25 reps with 45 pounds

Single Leg Dumbbell Calf Raises = 20 pounds, single leg raises 5 sets of 10

Eliptical - 30 minutes at 30 incline, level 5

My ass is exhausted, but I’m not sore!  I don’t know if it’s the glutamine that I pound every couple hours, the Cell Mass or the BCAA’s but I’m feeling pretty damned good right now!  Check back tomorrow and I’ll let you know how I feel, that is if I can get to the computer!

By the way, this is my baby that died last week.  Miss him to death = Love you Rockie…….
