you gotta get carbs…. but gotta go for the good carbs with a steady release…
the best diet is a balanced diet and of course a few pinches of gym!!
the formula:-
protein+good fats+good carbs+gym+hard work..
keep up the work and good luck with your goals!!!

Aitkens does work, it is a bit hard to maintain. You do lose weight quite fast on it. Just make sure you get your fiber in. A balanced diet does take a bit longer but it is easier on the mind and body.

Did the Fat Smasher Diet from Celebrity Fit Club and lost 25-30 in about 70 days but I agree with bjg7. He’s shooting you striaght.

Yeah, bjg7 is right, you need some carbs, preferably from unrefined grains (such as in whole grain bread) or things like sweet potato. The Atkin’s diet to me does not seem like a diet that you could stick to long term and you might find it hard to get enough fibre in your diet - although you could get this from fibrous vegetables.
Anyways, this wikipedia article is reasonably balanced and summarizes the positions of both sides of the debate:

Some of the principles of the Atkin’s diet are actually pretty good - an emphasis on whole foods, less refined carbohydrate sources, more lean protein and so on. Well that’s my two cents, all the best.
