Numbers going down on weights

Thursday, November 29th, 2007

So i have decided to drop the weights a bit on lifting to ensure i am doing the correct form and can get through the entire workout. I still get a good burn and after doing this for yesterday’s upper body workout, my chest and just my whole upper body is very SORE! I did take some L-glutamine after my workout and creatine before my workout to help with the muscle recovery. I am still sore from my lower body workout on Monday and have started doing barbell lunges 2xs a week instead of just once a week to hit the glutes and hamstrings more. Yep, i feel it!! In about a week or so i will be posting full body progress pictures and hoping to see more muscle mass even though the weight i don’t think will be much different. As long as i’m more lean with muscle, i’m good to go! I will build back up to the good numbers (not doing 5×5 right now), but i will build up to it right.

Best body fat calipers

Wednesday, November 14th, 2007

So i took my body fat measurements via a site and it shows lower than last week using the same site. The Accumeasure calipers that i have still show 20% body fat, but i do have some loose skin on my tummy so i don’t know if it still accurately measures. By the looks of my pictures, it looks like my body fat has gone down. So now i’m looking for digital calipers that are easier to use and i can get more consistent results. Here is the site i was using every now and then to check my body fat: http://www.healthcentral.com/cholesterol/home-body-fat-test-2774-143.html

Let me know if you think this site is good or not. Lets hear some good site or other recommendations! Thanks all who reply :)

Realistic goal to lower BODY FAT

Saturday, November 10th, 2007

Hi guys and gals! So i’m trying to get my goals together for my next challenge and i’m thinking that one of my goals is to lower my bodyfat from 20.3% (current) down to 17-18% body fat in the next 12 weeks starting Monday. Is this a realistic goal?? My long term goal is 15% and 12% once i start competing in figure. I know i will have to watch my diet better and still continue with the cardio and weights to get it down where i want it, but hoping i don’t lose too much more weight. Any suggestions on the best ways to get it down without losing muscle? I am already doing cardio 6xs a week (3 times HIIT, 3 times light cardio). Should i back off of cardio a bit? Any feedback is much appreciated, just a little frustrated that my body fat isn’t lower currently. Thanks!

Still feeling STOKED!!

Thursday, November 8th, 2007

So i’m still working on my essay for the EAS challenge round 4 entry. So many thoughts to put onto paper, still trying to write from the heart so that i can reach out to other women and men to achieve their goals. When they feel it’s impossible, they can learn from success stories and get inspired. So many great transformations, how is one not to feel inspired and motivated! I have also entered another challenge on a forum i am on and hoping to win one of the categories there so you guys/gals wish me luck! Next week i will start another challenge, so this week i will plan out my goals (VERY IMPORTANT) and go from there. Also i really want to get into figure comps next year so i really need to start looking and thinking about getting a online personal trainer to help me along my journey. Taste of victory! Nothing else is SWEETER :)

Here is one of my favorite quotes that i think about all the time:

“For every person who doubts you, tell you you will fail, try twice as hard to prove them wrong.”

Progress pics are UP! Another successful 12 week transformation!

Tuesday, November 6th, 2007

Well, finally took my progress pics since i haven’t taken any full ones for like a month. I am pretty stoked with the results so far! WOW, i’m shocked by the pics and keep pinching myself to make sure i’m not dreaming cause i still can not believe that NEW GIRL is me!! My kids and husband are very proud of me and have encouraged me the whole way! Well, my husband not at first, but then he started to see the changes and saw that i was happier. He kills me now though, says i’m getting too skinny and to stop already or he is going to throw my protein powder out…WTF??? He made me mad with that shit!! I am going to prove to him that i’m not just going to be some skinny chick and i will be ROCK SOLID and eventually fulfill my dream of doing figure comps and possible fitness modeling. I want to inspire other women and men to achieve their goals in fitness. That will be a satisfaction for me. I am going to enter a packet into EAS for the Body for Life challenge round 4 and really hoping they choose me this time! Wish me luck!

P.S. Do i really look skinny??

End of Challenge #3 (Body for Life)

Saturday, November 3rd, 2007

Yes, i’m in the final stretch of this challenge and feeling ecstatic! I have done the best on this challenge, but i’m not getting any professional pics done this time. I will be taking pictures at home or at my sister’s house. So i wanted to see if anyone had any tips for the best pictures to show the best definition. Also any last minute tips to show off the muscles? Someone told me i should water deplete, but i think its too late for that and i read where it can be dangerous. So what are your thoughts on this? Look out for my new progress pics on Monday or Tuesday! :)
