Glutes?!?! what are they??
Sorry, I’m getting ready for work and i gotta write this quick…. i have a problem… yes it seems as though i always do and it’s always related to the fact that i started out weight lifting, not knowing diddly squat about anything. well i am one of those girls who you would say is pear-shaped. and i HATE it!!! my body tends to store more fat in my legs and hips and BUTT. so its very easy to lose stomach fat but almost impossible to lose lower body fat. Well, i need to lose lower body fat and im not sure exactly how to do this. im afraid to try different glute exercises because i dont know which ones will make my butt bigger and which ones will tone it out. I know cardio helps a lot but i dont want to do too much so that i lose all gains im making in my glutes and they just turn to mush…. hahahha. well this is all i have time to write at the moment. suggestions are greatly appreciated!!!

Lunges are the best exercise for glutes.

unfortunately, you can’t "spot reduce" meaning you can’t isolate fat loss in one specific area of your body, that’s what procedures like liposuction do. i’d say keep doing your cardio and don’t be scared to try squats and lunges, but if you ask me you’re looking pretty damn amazing already
good luck with your workouts.

I concur with Willgetnice. Keep doing the resistance because you do need lean muscle, but keep up with your cardio and diet as well.

I would not worry about the glutes getting huge because it takes years of heavy lifting for noticeable change. Cheers!

Touche on Will. Its predominantly genetics, and even down to different types of receptors in the fat tissue that make it more stubborn to go away. If you really wanna lean out it’ll come down to diet more than any means of training. Deep squats and lunges will be your best bet to tone up the muscle. Just gonna have to be lean overall to eventually make your body start burning fat in the more stubborn areas.

trixter 747 is right. Youre diet is the most important. for cardio the stepper and walking on an incline also should tightin up your glutes

great advice above! moderate weight. maybe 60-75 reps each leg would be my suggestion. Stationary lunges, walking lunges, etc. mix them up. Try some lateral leg raises, leg kick backs, standing leg curls, etc wih cables if you can. These are great atleaning and toning legs and glutes.. You do look great! CV

Hey guys, new to the site.
Try some lateral lunges as well - great blute shaper and really targets - you’ll feel them right away.

Lunges and Squats, as heavy as you can. Also, look at adding in Split Squats at least every other workout. As well as ground squats. These 4 excercises along with stiff legged dead lifts are the major movements for building the glutes.
