back at it

I haven’t done much since my last entry but I have this week off and now is the time to get back into a routine. My husband & I have booked our first trip out of the country, we are going to Cuba in January. I am very excited, we have never been on a plane or traveled so far. Now I have some really good motivation, I want to be able to wear my bikini on our trip and be comfortable in it.  So I am going to have to work really hard on my eating and drinking, these are the hardest parts for me. I love to eat and me and my husband love to eat at restaurants .. that is going to have to stop. I have started tracking my calorie intake using a great website (fitday.com) I think if I have to be accountable for what I put into my mouth I might not do it.

Well since I have been back I only did a work out twice. Not feeling too good about that, but I am having trouble getting motivated again. I know how great I feel when I do workout and I have noticed a difference in how I feel over all but for some reason I just can’t make myself get down there and do it. I did go out this weekend and buy a situp bench and and some books by Tosca Reno hopefully they help will help get me motivated again. We’ll see how this week goes I am going to have to just make myself do it I know I will feel better….

back from vacation

Well now that I am back it is time to get back into a routine. I feel gross from all the poor food choices while I was gone and feel like there is a lot I have to work off. But I think it was a needed break because I was starting to get a bit discouraged and losing motivation to do my workouts. It just felt/feels like I work, & work & work, and push myself and there are very little results. very frustrating. Obviously I must be doing something wrong. I think it is my diet, it is very hard to eat properly. I am trying to eat clean but have a hard time sticking to it. Maybe I can complete a short term goal of eating clean all weekend……

still on holidays

well I am on my vacation and loving everything in the mountains. It is hard to keep up with eating correct. That is my biggest problem even when I am at home. I am not finding too many places with "good" choices or maybe I am just choosing not to see them.  ha! But at least I am still getting in some  exercise. We have been doing a lot of hiking which I have discovered I love! I am going to have to do more. We took a tram ride up to Mount Whistler and then hiked up to the summit, wow was that amazing! We were all totally exhausted that day! Today we are going to check out the Ice Fields it should be fun!

kinda blew it

It was much harder than anticipated to avoid all of the yummy junk food at the lake. I kinda ate a lot of junk… and only went jogging once. Which is much harder than using my elliptical. I think I may have to start jogging more often. But on the up side I did do much more swimming than I thought and lots of walking. So since today was the first day back I got straight to it when I woke up and I am really going to have to watch what I am eating because we are going on a vacation to Jasper this month so that will be another long span without exercise and having to eat at restaurants.

going to the lake

Well I am going to the lake this weekend and will not be able to do any weights. I have given myself a small challenge since I don’t really like swimming that much I thought I would try and go jogging every morning while I am there. That will probably be the most exercise I get all weekend because I mostly sit in the sun all day. I am really going to have to watch what I eat too. We will be with my husbands family and they always have a lot of junk around for the grandkids… I will have to stay out of that stuff. I am packing a bunch of healthy stuff for myself.

woo whoo

Felt great today!! Got straight to it this morning and feel great! I love it when I can work out in the morning it is too bad I can only do that on the weekends. During the week I’d have to get up too early and I do love my sleep. I tried doing interval cardio today where I do low intensity for 2 min and then go hard for 2min (I read about that in the Oxygen Mag, that I am now addicted to, except they call it TIPs I think.) any way wow did I sweat!! I really felt like I had a great work out today!!

some motivation

I have been lacking some motivation lately and not really wanting to work out or follow my proper eating but I found some today. I thought I would go shopping for some new clothes. Wow I still have a lot work to do. I still have too much flab squishing out, I don’t fit into the clothes that I want to yet. So after supper tonight I went and did a work out and feel great. That shopping trip should keep me motivated for a while and then when I need some new motivation I will have to go bathing suit shopping and that should keep me going for the rest of the summer. Ha!

Well I did my first arm workout since I hurt my shoulder. I think I did not too bad. I couldn’t complete some of the exercises but I did what I could. I really want to get going again but I also don’t want to do it too hard and hurt myself again. I am going to have to modify some of my exercises for a while I think. I will just have to find a different way to do some of the same exercises.

Kind of slipped this weekend, but I am back on track now. Picked up a new Oxygen magazine and found some good ab exercises. I am going to try those ones and see how that goes. I have yet to find a set of ab exercises that I am happy with. These ones were challenging for me but I am going to keep working with them. I think I just need to pick a set of exercises and stick with them. I have read lots of good things about that magazine on this site and others. I thought it had lots of good information and even some great sounding recipes that I am going to try.
