interruption
Am I too nice? Do any of you get people who want a conversation during your work out? I try to get to that moment of silence where I say "alright man I’ll talk to you later" and part ways but they always have something else to say. all my n.o. explode is going to waste. I was ready to blow up my chest and tri’s and bam! in the middle of finishing off my chest with cable flys, here come the questions and what do i take and yadda yadda.gym closes in 15 min. i got to get out some pull downs for my tris thats all. what do you do??

For me I decided to be really rude and just don’t answer to people in the middle of my workouts. I wear my ipod all the time, so it’s hard to talk to me anyway.
When I feel like doing the next excercise, I just say "ok, have to go on" and turn around. For me that’s the best way to not let people waste my gym time. And really, I’m not there to make friends at all.

I do somewhat the same as Shibanuma.. but I rarely have people come up to spark up discussions anyway. The most I’ve ever heard from someone was when a guy came and asked if I was a lefty because he had some theory about how people worked out relating to which was their dominant side.
I have my ipod going for just about every gym session, and I think a lot of people at my gym tend to respect that sort of thing, so the most I’ll get is the "hey, are you using ?"

the regulars there are cool. we might shoot the shit for 5 min while im stretching and then you do your shit. its usually the ones who just go to play around or have been there for an hour and havent even broke a sweat ya know? the regulars are there to work. maybe spot me or give each other advise but not a conversation about directions to long beach.
