Ego time!

So I was at a party last Saturday night wearing one of my tight Affliction shirts that happen to accentuate muscle quite well and some girls walked in. One of them looked at me and said, "Hoooooly s$%t, you’re f-in huge buddy". That felt good. haha. I notice that when I go out too, all the guys want to introduce themselves and be all buddy buddy with me. What an ego trip I’m on now. lol. I’m working hard for it. I deserve it! :)

SEXY DONUTS!

This post is not sexy. Nor does it have anything to do with donuts. Just an update. Did the ole 5lbs heavier on my bench. So 5 sets of 5 reps with 235. Got 7 reps on my last set. I might add as well that each rep I did was a pause with the bar paused a millimetre above my chest. Just hover it there for about 2-3 seconds then push it up. Makes it way harder. Then did some dips. Lots of dips. And some incline presses with 90lbs dumbells. My arms were rubber by the time I got to the inclines haha.

Continued with my 5 of 5 with bench. Up to 230lbs today. No problem. Banged off 3 extra reps on the last set. Probably would have gotten more but didn’t go to bed till really late. Oh well, I can feel that I’m stronger every day. I should hit my limit for 5 of 5 just about the same time the creatine effects will start to be noticable. I can’t waaaaait. I love creatine. Only been taking it for a week now. Another 2-3 weeks and I’ll be mackin.

So I go shoppin for jeans. Grab a couple 38’s I like and head into the dressing room. Apparently 38 is about 752 inches too big for me now. I tried 36. Still waaaay too big. 34 waist is perfect, but my legs are too big to move once I yank them up. Actually, they’re even still a bit loose in the waist.

My buddy with the same problem told me later tonight at the gym that American Eagle boot cut are the only jeans that fit a small waist/big legs and still look good. I’ll have to check that out.

 In the mean time, I feel great that I lost so many inches. Even though all my old jeans are like pool tarps on me now, it didn’t become real until tonight…. haha

 

Steroids

As tempting as it was way back when I was not as retrospective as I am now, I never ever ever ever took any substance that was illegal. Lots of guys were around me and I was offered some sweet ‘at cost’ deals, but nope. I was very strong, and I didn’t feel the need to be bigger than what I was naturally. Mostly, I didn’t want the acne. Now that I know your left aortic ventricle enlarges (along with all the other smooth muscle in your body) potentially causing early heart attacks (lots of pro body builders, wrestlers and football players droppin off quite young) and they make you look OLD I’m glad I never touched ‘em. So what got me writing this blog is seeing a video of a former Mr Olympia and titled ‘Motivation’. Seeing someone who’s had no disregard for their health and ‘cheated’ to get where they are DOES NOT MOTIVATE ME. I don’t read advice given in bodybuilding magazines, because if these guys didn’t take steroids, they would be asking ME for advice. I’m not referring to the days before the negative effects were fully known. I’m talking about the current guys that should know better. You don’t need to be a tank. I’m not huge, but the muscle I have gets me plenty of attention. So, take all the legal supplements in the world, eat healthy, train like crazy, get lots of sleep, and listen to sound advice. Then in a couple years when you see one the juice monkeys struggling to lift what you can easily handle, and handle naturally, you will be proud of yourself.

Steroids

CREATINE TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!

So I’ve had a bunch of creatine here and have not been touching it. I wanted to get a bit of strength back before I venture into any supplements besides protein. So now it’s time. I was taking it easy the past couple months so I didn’t hurt myself, but now I’m confident that I can push my body to the limit and not tear something. So I’m uppin the ante and goin nuts. When I took creatine about 10 years ago I had amazing results… so here’s hopin it treats me well again…

No, not really. Taking a day off today. I was going to do shoulders and tris, but literally EVERY muscle in my body is sore. From my traps to my perfectly scultped glutes lol. So tomorrow I’ll go straight from work and head to the gym and hit the shoulders, then legs on Sunday.

NEW RECORD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 450lbs BENCH!!!!!!!!!!!

Omg I knew I was strong but holy crap! I tried my max bench today and WOW! Banged off 300 like nothin. I KNEW I’d get that no problem, but what happened next I was not expecting at all. I put on 3 plates. Bam. Like nothing. So I told the boys to throw another 10 on each side and see if I could get 335. Well, I laid back, brought it down slowly to my chest and pushed it up in about 3 seconds. Nice steady lift. Then came the surprise. They put 25’s on each side by mistake. So I easily benched 365! How the $%^&? So now for 4 plates. We put on 405lbs. Never even attempted it before. I made sure there was no surprises this time…. and what do you know? I nailed it. Right to my chest, and I even paused it for a second then pushed it up sooooo easy. Enrique, my spotter wasn’t even near the bar. So what’s the next benchmark? 450 right? Well now, that was hard. But I still got it. I struggled and E nearly had to touch the bar to help me, but it kept moving. Very very slowly, but I didn’t give up. So now my max bench is officially 450lbs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had to stop there, cause when you realize what today’s date is, you’ll realize I gotcha! I can’t bench that much haha.
