After work I went to the gym with the mindset that I would put in a long cardio session and talk with my trainer. Boy was I wrong. I power-walked it over to the gym from work which took 35 minutes. I put my things in the locker and proceeded to locate my trainer so we could “touch base”. Once she spotted me it was HELL. LOL! We immediately began a hard core workout which lasted 45 minutes, hitting a lot of the large muscle groups with very little rest in between sets. I was exhausted by the time I finished but I still put in 45 minutes on the cross-trainer to make sure I got my “cardio” in for the day.
Today - I can barely move the lower half of my body. I will do light cardio, chest and arms today.
On another note:
I don’t think in my lifetime that I would have dreamed there would EVER be a black president. While I ‘m very happy, excited and proud, it is equally scary as hell! I’ve seen a lot of hateful messages out on the internet and really can’t believe that at the end of the day people can’t see that Barack Obama is simply a man.
After my workout, I was riding home on the city bus when they announced that Mr. Obama won the election, I swear I thought the bus driver was going to try to crash the bus and kill all of us. I was too afraid to rejoice in the win, and the bus driver was clearly ANNOYED. Today, I drove to work. I guess I have to wait until this settles in a bit because my nerves are fried.

It’s terrible that racism still exists. The other day I saw a guy at the gym with swastikas on his ankle, and I really wanted to say something to him, but I didn’t. Like he got to choose the color of his skin. Like I got to choose mine or Obama his. And yet this man clearly felt so entitled. It makes me so mad and so scared at the same time, that because I am not "white," I am an easy target. BUT the very fact that Obama was elected shows that times are changing.

Wow it’s really that bad in Seattle?? I thought it was fairly liberal up there. Even as a conservative who is very upset w/ the election based on policy alone I think this is a giant step forward. Stay strong.

I think all states have "pockets" of people who are not really feeling the outcome and that is understandable. But I think I’m more afraid of the things I read on the internet more than anything. Seattle in general is indeed pretty liberal…I guess i was just on the wrong bus.

I think people are more concerned with the threat that America will become a socialistic state. But with so many social programs in existence already, I can’t see how much worse it can get. Medicare and Medicaid are already the biggest healthcare payers, we are only a c**t hair away from being just like Canada.
