So this week…

Friday, May 30th, 2008

I am really pleased with my progress physically and mentally. I haven’t done my measurements and bodyfat test for the week, but I know that my body is changing. I am becoming stronger, more coordinated, and starting to look tight! Today I did my first 2 sets of barbell squats(no smith machine). And yesterday, a trainer at my gym asked me if I was a trainer, and twice someone said I have an athletic build! I am so pumped!

Now about the mental, if you read my earlier first post, I say that I want to keep things positive. You know why, because everyone is at different place in there journey. The last couple of days, I have seen all kinds in my gym, and they were focused. We here a lot on this site, about "those people", but maybe if we welcomed those people at there place in their journey, maybe they can become serious, too!

I believe often, that people who are just starting out, see people who are fit and healthy, and are intimidated and scared off. I am blessed that I am at a gym with a good mix of people, who seem to know the rules, are very polite and helpful. Today, a total stranger at the gym taught me how to do a barbell squat, in the middle of his workout. That is what it is all about.

I hope that all of you find an opportunity to build someone up while your on this journey. It can be hard, there are many who can be dismissive of your accomplishments because, they are afraid to challenge themselves. It’s just as bad to complain about those who are on a different part of the journey than you, I have realized.

How I plan to lift people up is teaching others about health, nutrition, and exercise, in a way that is accessible to hardcore bodybuilders and figure women and the general population. My goals is to make people learn that this is not that hard, it is the desire couple with the right knowledge to create a new habits, thereby creating a new lifestyle. My rules:

  1. A healthy diet taste good, maybe even better than an unhealthy one if you learn to cook.
  2. Physical Fitness is taken in stages, not an all or nothing approach. There are no shortcuts.
  3. Something is better, than nothing.

I really exemplified Rule #3, on Wednesday third week. I have spent the last two month getting off of a variety of medications, the last one is Lexapro, which has debilitating withdrawal if not , on weaned from properly. Hell, even if you do it properly, you get horrible withdrawal symptoms! Anyway, Wednesday, is an aerobics only day, AKA, "Get a life Day", where I only don’t spend 2 hours in the gym! Anyway, I couldn’t get over my withdrawal symptom, because I was out of St. John’s Wort. My boyfriend brought some home at 7 and I was feeling better, by 9pm. I know it is my job to burn 500 calories every day except Sunday, but we had already started watching a movie, so you know what I did. I jumped rope during every commercial break, then did my ab routine, then watch my cardio hula vid. 400-500 calories, bite the dust!

It wasn’t what I originally planned, but notice that doing what I originally planed wasn’t a rule. Doing something is.

Cheers,

CE

P.S. Remember, pics and stats on Sunday!

Who is that girl with the nice legs looking at me

Tuesday, May 27th, 2008

It’s me! It’s me!

OMG! I was doing lunges to day in the mirror and saw how nice a tight my thighs have become. Then I passed a window and saw my side veiw to see some really awsome triceps! I am responding really well to my routine. It is really exciting to see progress. I am going to try and post photos today with just legs and arms.

Cheers,

CE

One of the best days of my life.

Please excuse the weird font changes, I don’t know any HTML.

Until today I was the proud owner of CES Concierge Services. Today I wrote my last client, a Dear Client Letter that stated the following:

Yes, I can. I will do for free. This will be the last time I can work for you, as I am closing the concierge service down. I have been meaning to tell you, but it has been hard for me to give up. Unfortunately, I have let you down, and you, and my other clients need someone who can place their full-attention to your needs. They are other services here in Marin, I am CC’ing this to my assistant(who is coming with me to the new business), to go to the appropriate resources to send you a list of who can help you. We can also give them the info about you to make the transition easier.

I am sorry for the suddenness of all of this, 5 years ago, I was starting a personal training business, and had to quit due to illness and began this one, instead. My health is better, and I began training and studying again, and it is as if my first love came walking through the door. I just couldn’t ignore it. I will be doing online fitness consulting while I am developing my program for free for the next year(until June ’09), for people to test out my program, and for me to confirm results, before I release. You are of course invited(I am very picky about who I am inviting).

I feel really bad having to end this all like this. You were definitely my favorite client, which is why this is so hard.

–Christina

The last 2 months, I have been either firing clients, or having them fire me cause I was trainging and would not jump when they’d say. I am not complaing, it was what I did, and I loved it, I just love fitness more. Fitness is like my first and true love. I have wanted to work in fitness and nutrition since I was 10!!!! So I was really pleased to get this as a reply:

No problem – good for you!  I think you have my car key too.  Can you drop off the keys etc. for me tomorrow?  Good luck!

I have been treated like real crap before, but this lady was totally cool! She was always cool, and I was disappointed not to be able to continue working for her.

Well now is the beginning of a new era. Say good by to CES Concierge Services and hello to TNT Fitness Consulting!

Cheers,

Christina

If your gonna have an obsession, why not fitness?

Sunday, May 25th, 2008

I have been on BodySpace all day setting up my page, entering every detail of my program to share with you, my BodySpace friends. I am so excited to have a place where, I can talk about this lifestyle, without people getting defensive and giving me their flip and often lazy comments. That is the last time I am going to talk about "those people," because I want everything here to be positive. About me supporting others in their goals, and getting the same in return. Thank you to everyone for the warm welcome and good wishes. I am looking to growing and advancing, and watching you do the same!

You all rock!

Now, about that title. I thought that to myself, the other day when I blew off something, that "those people," normally wouldn’t, to workout instead. Why, because I am obsessed with getting and keeping myself in the best shape of my life.

And I thought, what if everybody was obsessed with fitness, the way we are? America would be much healthier. Today, people are addicted to drugs, food, sex, even starving themselves. What is we lived in a world that was obsessed with maintaining the temple that god has given us for our souls.

This is why I blow off many things to do my workouts, and not skip anything: yoga, hula, belly dance, weights, and cardio. I make it work and work everything else around it. I often wonder, no one would run their car for a whole year without changing the oil, would they? Why do people, think that a machine, that can be around 100 years, and that you can get a new one of, once you break it(IE, die), doesn’t require attentive maintenance. That is what your are doing when you skip your workout or your healthy meal or your sleep. You are skipping on your maintenance of the most important and increadable machine that has been given to you.

So, If anyone calls you crazy, or obsessed, or any other negative, just remember how maintaining your mind(always stimulate your mind with good company and entertainment), your spirit(I can’t advise on this, I do yoga and church, myself), and your body, is the most important thing you can do for yourself and others.

Good Night,

CE
