My diet
I appreciate everyone’s comments and compliments about the way I look but please do not ask me what kind of diet I am to look like this. Obviously I am getting ready for a competition so I am cutting. If you are not competing my "kind of diet" is not adviced. Focuse on clean eating and exercise. There are no shortcuts. There is no magic pill. There is something called busting your ass your ass in the gym, eating right, and most all, DEDICATION and CONSISTENCY. How bad do you want it? Most people want my results but they are not willing to put the work into it. They want to wake up and *poof* you look GOOD! It’s not going to happen! Everything I have achieved over the last 5 months have been nothing more than endless hours of sweat and pain. While everyone at work was eating cake, chips and dip, pizza, all kinds of fattening meats I would bring my meals in to work every single day and I would sit at the same table and eat them. While they would all crack jokes about my "vegetables, or plain chicken" they wondered why they couldn’t see the results I was seeing. But was anyone giving up on those unhealthy lunches? Was anyone waking up at 4 am to go the gym before work?
So when I say it does not happen over night or there are no shortcuts, believe me. I was overweight for 6 years and tried (unsuccesfully) many shortcuts. It wasn’t until last year that I learned the right way to do it. Eating right and exercising every day. Don’t think just because you workout you can eat all you want. All the hard work you put in the gym will be out the window. I thought I could eat all I wanted because I had lost 50 lbs and was in the gym everyday. Well, I ended up with 30 of those 50 lbs the beginning of this year as you can see in my pictures.
For everyone out there asking me for advice, I wish I had the time to reply to everyone. I am no subject matter expert, but I must be doing something right. I want to help everyone, I was there, and I know exactly what it feels like. I will do my best to give out tips and encouragement to all. But if you are really serious about making a change, I hope what you are reading, if you even made it this far, touched you in some way.
Remember, there are no shortcuts! And the biggest one, BABY STEPS! You may not be seeing results as fast as I am, or someone else is, but as long as you are making progress, it is all that matters. It’s all about being a healthier, better you! You don’t have to lose 10 lbs in a week, but if you lose 10 lbs in 3 months, you are doing something right.
Stay with it, be consistent, be dedicated. Good things come to those who work hard. If you need any personal advice feel free to email me. I will do my best to reply.
How bad do YOU want it?
Celia

Amen!!

Hey. You hit it right on the button. Busting your ass and being dedicated is the only answer! I’ve had the same comments of people busting on my while I’m chewing the same meals day in and day out. Yes, and they are the same ones that can’t get out a chair without moaning or grunting. Everyone is different and everyone needs to adjust their dieting per their body type/capacity. You have done a fantastic job with your body and I hope nothing stands in your way of competing and winning. Best of luck and keep it up. Adios…

Great post. I find myself getting frustrated even when making only small gains. But then I remind myself i am better off than the day before. Ya just keep building on small gains and results then one day, you’re the monster you wanna be.

Doesn’t it seem like most of the world is either clueless or in denial about how to get in shape. Everyone’s looking for the quick fix with pills and fad diets. What ever happened to good old fashioned hard work? It does not seem that complicated to me, yet I see blogs everyday from people with no clue.
You look awesome Celia!

Well put. I used to be the guy that worked hard and ate terrible…doesn’t work.

This is exactly what I needed to read right now. I too lost 50 lbs. I just gained about 10 of it back because I got complacent and started goofing off and eating crap. Over the last few weeks I have regained focus and I’ll make sure it doesn’t happen again. Like you said. you gotta eat right and bust your ass! Congrats on the progress btw and good luck in your comp.

love your message. I get teased all the time about what i eat and how often and all the experimenting i am doing with my diet etc. I love the message, there is no substitue to work. The only place where success comes before work is the dictionary! Keep up the great work you look fantastic. next week you are gonna kick some butt!

This is an excellent post!
People need to know there are no shortcuts or special secrets…if you work hard and remain consistent good results will follow.
I especially loved the but about you eatin your meals while those around you chose to eat crap-that shows that you have the dedication needed to succeed..and as we can see from your body you have…you go girl!!!

This is probably the BEST advice anyone could give! It’s not sugar coated yet you make the point that if you want it bad enough then it is possible. You look absolutely FABULOUS and you are truly an inspiration!

Hey guys, I am so glad to see so many people taking this and turning it into a positive thing rather than getting upset about it. I love being an inspiration to many. Yes, "IT" can be done. Whether you are a mother, or just a woman/man battling overweight issues. You can do it! If there is anything I can do or say to help push ONE person that last step they need to succeed, I am doing my job. It’s not just about me anymore. It’s about helping those in need. Those that are stuck where I was for so long and don’t know how to get out of it. Since I learned how to do it right, I want to teach others to do it the right way too. You do not have to starve yourself, or eat tasteless foods like most people think.
The only one thing that will bother and upset me is those that ask for help that don’t really want to be helped. If you want to do it, go at it 100%, otherwise don’t waste my time. You cannot succeed in life when you half ass everything you do. So again, it goes back to one of favorite sayings.. How bad do YOU want it? If you want it bad enough, you won’t make excuses. You can do it, we can all do it. Let’s all turn this world into a healthier, better looking place to live.

I love this blog. I read every word and I agree one hundred percent. I recently started going to the gym but im struggling with my diet. I am not eating right and Im in my third week already of going to the gym. Yes I notice that results can happen quickly if you’re dedicated, but they would show even quicker if I ate good and I am completely powerless
My goal is to eat clean and I want to accomplish that some day. I really do!! Its so hard

Wise words- totally agree.

I totally agree with you. I am at the beginning of my journey of "getting real" about needing to consistently eat clean and work exceptionally hard in the gym to change my body. I’ve been heavy for 9 not-so-fun-filled years… continuing to read excerpts like this just confirms exactly what one needs to do. Very motivating indeed!
