KETTLEBELL WORKOUT
October 21, 2008This morning I was so excited to meet with my trainer. I had just spent the last 2 days not working out and feeling like crap. 2 days of no activity and I was feeling fat and lathargic. Last week I had worked out so hard and it felt so good. Amazing how fast you can lose that workout energy!
5:50am I show up at the gym ready to go. At this time in the morning I have the place to myself. Just my trainer and I. Usually he has a bunch of equipment out and I try to figure out how he is going to punish me, while I warm up on the bike, but today there really isn’t any equipment out other than a bench! I am curious as I was really looking forward to abusing my body, so I ask! He tells me that everything we do today will be done with a kettlebell. And, so we did! From swings, to rows, to clean and jerks, to lunges, squats and everything else. We pounded through our time together with 1 simple tool. I don’t know if I would want to do this type of workout on a regular basis, I enjoy isolating and abusing my body, but all in all it was an enjoyable workout. I am sure it took my body by surprise as the moves are so explosive. hopefully it will keep my body guessing and will help me see bigger gains than my last pics which were dissapointing to say the least!
