Good luck with the new goal!! I know how it feels working as an IT with the Navy my work days are 6-6 so after 12 hours of sitting around the last thing I wanted to do was hit the gym, but I've really started looking forward to those post-work workouts as almost a way of relaxing. Also for meals you can also look into making some nice healthy at home meals for 2, something that you can turn into a romantic night with your new bf but not being taking in tons of calories in the process.

A lot of people tell me that working out before work each day is a great way to burn carolries and to wake up. For me that just does not work. I have to be to work at 5 AM and get up at 4 AM just to get ready now. It might work for you though. I am not going to bed each night at 7:30 each night to get up at 2:30 AM to get my workout in. Best of luck. Stick with it, it does feel good!

Hey girl! How is the training going? This is NOT a fluke because we are both losing weight the RIGHT way. Once I broke 180 pounds on the scale I knew I could lost the next 30 pounds. Last time I was losing weight I got to this point I was cocky and stopped writing my food journal and cheating on my diet. If anything this fuels my desire to get to goal and work harder. I now cycle carbs and omit nuts, nut butters and bread. Keep in touch! Check out my progress pics!

You'd get a whole ton of faith in the system if you persisted with it. The thing about being 'strict' is that it's just a change. It's neither strick or lax. It's just a change that you can percieve in any way, shape, or form of your choosing. If you look at it from a birds eye view, I think you'll find that you being what you call 'strict,' which implies being limiting actually has the exact opposite effect on your life-it opens more doors than ever and leaves you more free than you've ever been!

Great questions. You should talk to my daughter, cause she knows a lot more about this stuff than I do. At my age, i do more lifting and less cardio. I have days where I am lifting at a rate that gets my cardio going and i jump rope at least one minute, and sometime two, between most all of my sets. I am trying to tone and not lose muscle.

This is what I do, and its working very well for me as far as burning fat..ok, 30 minutes total...5 min at 6.0, 5 min at 6.5...walk for 2 minutes at 3.0...then 1 min at 10.3 (I strive to increase everytime), 1 min at 3.0...9 total intervals...I do 3 of these a week, then on Sat or Sun, I just do a 45 min jog...today it was at 6.3.

I love what Andrew said:

"If you cant hunt it down and kill it or grow it in a garden then the best bet it to not ingest it "

Keep working at finding your balance. Day three is just a day. You are looking for a lifestyle that works with you - don't be so hard on yourself.

I was bored and just hanging around and saw your blog on recently commented and had to respond!

I hope you don't take this the wrong way but it sounds like you are starving yourself. I would eat a large breakfast which contains lots of carbs, a moderate lunch which contains more carbs, and a light dinner which is lean meat, fish, or a nice salad with chicken is also really nice but no dressing of course.

I would consider reading about Pine Nuts. They not only curb your appetite but they are really healthy and contain more protein than any other nut (if you are doing any lifting) This along with lean meat and non fat yogurt are excellent alternatives to factory made unnatural protein shakes. Staying away from anything processed is really bad as well and splenda and other artificial sweeteners. If you cant hunt it down and kill it or grow it in a garden then the best bet it to not ingest it IMO. http://www.karlloren.com/Diabetes/p40e.htm

Anyway don't worry about what you eat as much as how many calories you use up throughout the day. I eat what I want within reason but still lose weight because I go to the gym, run on the treadmill, then play 5 sets of tennis in 85+ degree weather for 3 hours. Physical activity is all that matters. Make sure that you do something every single day. The more intense it is the faster you will see results. I strongly recommend finding a set of stairs and running up and down them to see how many times you can do that. Also, Interval training is awesome so check it out I have lost 40 pounds (old picture) and built up muscle endurance and bulk in 6 months without the aid of any supplements, artificial sweeteners, without starving myself, and without even protein powder simply by doing a ton of cardio.

Anyway, you seem like a sweet girl so good luck in your goals just keep positive and results will come!
