"Complacency is the Key" "To strive with difficulties, and to conquer them, is the highest human felicity; the next is, to strive, and deserve to conquer: but he whose life has passed without a contest, and who can boast neither success nor merit, "

This is my first post and I have been working out now for about 7 months. I got started because of two reasons. One I really didn’t like the way I looked when I saw myself in the mirror and knew I needed to change and get that six pack and bigger chest. Also because a friend of mine was lifting and asked if I wanted to join him.  I can get through the workouts in about an hour to an hour and a half. We lift at 09:00 o’clock every morning except Sunday and we have a very focused routine that we follow. Monday is our max days for chest. We see what the max we are able to do on the flat bench and after that we go and do our normal workout.

Let me tell you the first couple of weeks was very humbling. I got very weak and could barely lift anything. But, with my friends encouragement and motivation, I was able to push through it and now I am starting to see a major change in the way that I look. I have been able to lose body fat and gain weight at about the same pace, but being in IRAQ we constantly lose weight due to the temperature……….being at 120-135……………"caliente"

I am very thankful to my friend who has really kept me focused and pushed me. There are days that I would rather not go and workout, but it really helps releave the stress and take my mind off of things for the time we are in the gym.

My down side is my cardio. I need to get out and do more cardio. There is no real excuse for not doing it, but I am so tired over here and it is hard to get pumped to go for a run. I guess I just need to get off my ass and go and do it.
