And you both need to recognize the fact that men lose fat faster than women. That way, its not a slap in the face nor an advantage. I have a story about one of my old training partners who was competing with his girlfriend at the time on who could lose the most weight in 2 weeks.

1) He didn't have that much weight to lose because she outweighed him by 40 lbs at that time
2) he was training with my crazy ass
3) Guys lose fat faster than women. Thank hormones for that one.

At any rate, I told them the contest was stupid but he was adamant about coming out ahead. He won and she was like "My friends told me I was dumb because of (number 3) but next time I'll just train with you and Mike." That was a bad idea but thats another story.

Maybe you two should try doing the same things in your quest. Of course she can't lift the weight you can, but thats not meant to be completely competitive either. What kind of training and diet are you two following anyway?

Wow...that's a tough one....Are both of you following the same plan? I agree that a certain level of competition is good, as it will help fuel the fire, but it really does need to stay positive. Since you can only control what you do and say, I would just stay positive. Comment only on the good out loud, and keep negitivity to yourself. Hopefully she will follow suit. Best of luck!!!
