Surviving the holidays!!!

I believe I am finally on the right track on my fat loss process…but here comes the holidays. Yep, those joyous days where you, your family and friends get together…celebrate, eat, talk, eat, drink, eat, exchange stories and eat! Basically it is all about the food and the amount you can take down!

For someone like me that is just starting to get this healthy lifestyle down, this is like a death trap! Am I strong enough to resist the temptations and not go overboard? Will I make healthy chpices with my brain or listen to my stomach and just go wild on the food display!

I need some advice and I need them now…:)

I’m sorry to tell you this, but there is not holiday SEASON. You have Thanksgiving Dinner, Christmas Dinner, and maybe a party on New years eve.

That’s it, 3 days. Don’t use the excuse that it’s "the holidays" to spent the next 2 months eating and not being strict.

When you’re at the table with your family, eat with everyone, drink a glass of wine, chat, and enjoy their company. Once the dinner is over YOU’RE right back at it.

Remember….the holidays are 3 days, not 2 months.

Two simple things that will help you during the holidays and over the next 6 months.

If you follow this advice I guarantee you will lose weight and gain muscle mass:

    1) Blog every thing you eat, every day. Whether it’s a single slice of toast or a dozen donuts. Just blog it out. And don’t cheat yourself by not keeping a record of what you eat.

    2) Don’t starve. Eat at least 6 meals a day and estimate the number of calories you’re consuming during each meal. Put that in your blog too. For help, get a Calorie guide like the one written by Calorieking.com.

Once you have a record of your daily caloric intake you’ll be empowered to do the right thing. Or, you’ll be empowered to do the wrong thing. It’s not magic. But it ain’t easy either.

Sorry the advise is a little late but check it out for Christmas.
On celebration days like Chistmas Day or when the whole family is getting together with all the food Carbs is giong to be your biggest battle. Carbs are in everything and you are going to have to stay away from them to meet your goals. Prior to the party I would suggest eating no carbs at all because there will be so many there for dinner. Fill up on protein and water. So when you get to the party you aren’t starving. Then ’sample’ the carbs don’t indulge yourself and make yourself sick because you ate so much. And do your best to keep eating meat and other protein that is there to fill you up a little avoiding over eating carbs. Finally treat yourself to a small piece of pie to celebrate your achievement and whatever holiday it is.
    Hope this helps.
‘This my opinion and only suggestions, if this is not agreed upon by other viewers, do’t read it.’
(message in the quotes is only for the people who don’t agree with me and feel the need to express themselves)
Enjoy your holiday and don’t feel bad about cheating a little. Jump back on the wagon the next day and continue the battle.
