December 9, 2007 : Cardio

Ok, today was a cardio day for me. I wanted to get the feel on running on the treadmill….and just to make a long story short, let’s just say I really need to lose some more weight before I really attack this again.

I did last about 15 minutes on the treadmill doing about 60 seconds of jogging and 90 seconds of walking. My back was just screaming bloddy murder…the back pain by just running or jogging for those 10 minutes was just unbearable. So after 15 minutes I decided to call it quit and head for the elliptical.

I felt more in my shoes or comfort zone than, and the pain on my back was gone. So, I did another 15 minutes on the ellipticall at resistance 6. I think I am going to stick with the elliptical until I lose more weight. That back pain was not cool!

 So to revise everything :

Treadmill : 15 minutes

Elliptical   : 15 minutes.

I feel you on that one. When I lost a bunch of weight last year, it wasn’t till I got down to about 215-220 before I could start putting some serious distance on a track or treadmill without feeling some kind of pain. It’s like that again now. I just like rotating between the elliptical, bike, arc trainer, and stairmaster so my body never has a chance to adjust.
