Starting up again
Monday, August 13th, 2007I’ve been apart of forums before, but not one with members as dedicated to fitness as this one! I’ve fallen off track for about a month - just getting lazy about hitting the gym, doing cardio videos at home a couple times a week and not eating as clean. I also just got back from being on vacation which doesn’t help!
But I’m getting back up.
My current diet is along these lines: an apple and coffee first thing in the morning, usually after cardio. Maybe an hour later I have my first of 5 meals, which are 200-300 calories each. I stick to nuts, peanut butter and avocados for fats. For protein I like chicken breasts, eggwhites, tuna, sometimes a veggie pattie and whey protein. Occassionally I’ll cook lean steak. For carbs I like plain oatmeal, sweet potatoes, fresh/frozen vegetables, fresh fruit, low carb tortillas and brown rice. For dairy I like nonfat milk and low fat cottage cheese. For condiments I use small amounts of fat free dressing/sour cream/mayo, salsa and ketchup/mustard. Before bed I have 1 scoop of whey protein or 1 scoop of Muscle Milk light in water.
As for working out, I like doing cardio first thing in the morning 4-5 times a week after taking a Lipodrene. I know there’s much debate on whether this will help you burn more fat or not, but it jump-starts my day and I notice more results, so it works for me. I usually do 1 session of high intensity cardio like running. The other sessions are fat burning cardio, keeping my heartrate around 140-150 bpm.
I strength train about 4 days a week. I hit every muscle I can, but avoid isolation for the most part. I do 3×10-12 for each exercise.
