Say no to NO

Wednesday, October 29th, 2008

I am getting rid of my NO Xplode.  I am thickheaded and keep goign back to it.  A girl I work with says she uses it so I am giving her the two jugs I have.  It does give a littel bit of a pump but it makes me cramp, especially when doing abs.  I don’t think it makes me stronger and it may be counterproductive as I am unable to finish my workout as I run out of the run before I start crying.  For me abs are one of the worst areas to have cramp up.  I can take about anywhere else but abs kill me.  I think more than the NO it is the caffiene in the product that jazzs  me up.  I have a couple of bottles of caffiene pills that have been collecting dust so I will probably give those a try.  But from here on out I am saying no to NO…

If it ain’t broke…

Sunday, February 3rd, 2008

This follows up on my earlier blog…

For a while iI was using  a program that was working well for me.  I was eating well, putting on quality mass and strength, looking good.  Then, for some reason, I stopped and decided to change things up. It is a few months later now and I have lost most of my gains, I feel like crap, and I am looking really scrawny again (I was never huge but relatively speaking).  I have no idea why I decided to reinvent the wheel but I learned my lesson.  I think I lost my patience and wanted a quick fix.  I bought into all of the supplement hype and expected miracles.  If a program is working then stick with it until it stops.  It sounds basic but I know that I am not the only one that has made this mistake.  I am not back to square one though becuase I am using this as a learning experience.  If it ain’t broke don’t fix it.

Weekly Grade B

Sunday, November 18th, 2007

Not a bad week overall.  I stayed up late a couple of nights doing homework so I was dragging a few days.  I also ate pretty crappy. I did put on some weight and also improved in all of my workouts so at least I am heading in the right direction.  This week will be crazy for most of us with Thanksgiving coming up.  My mom flies into town Wed night.  Then Thurs is the mother of all bulking meals.  I am going to eat until I puke and then eat a little more.  My gym is open for a few hours on Thurs so I hope I have the discipline to make it there in the morning.

I also received my new supps on Fri.  The NO Booster (White Blood) really gives me a pump.  We’ll have to wait and see how well they really do though.  I wasn’t too impressed with my previous stack (M Stak and Stak 2 by Animal).

Brutal Week

Tuesday, October 30th, 2007

just got back early this morning from a week of training (I’m in the Army).  It was definetly a step back as far as my fitness level goes.  Crappy nutrition, little rest, too much drinking, and stupid choices. I also didn’t plan well for the weather and spent to much time in the cold.  So I think I may may  alittle sick now.   I do think that the time away from the weights was good though.  I will get back in the gym this afternoon and see how it goes.

New supps

Monday, October 22nd, 2007

My new supplements came today.  I know nutrition and exercise are what really matter but I’m seeing if these supplements can give me a little extra.  For a multi I switched to Animal Pak.  It has everything but the kitchen sink in it.  The downside is the number and size of the pills.  11 freakin pills and most of them aren’t small at all.  I am also taking M Stak and Stak.  On the manufacturers suggestion I am breaking them up.  Now I’m in wait and see mode.  Hopefully I have all the pieces in place for some real growth now.

Progress

Sunday, October 21st, 2007

After week one I made a little progress.  I have to put on about .61 pounds a week to make my goal.  I managed to put on about a pound.  Next week will be rough.  I am going to the field and will not have access to a gym.  I am bringing some protein drinks to scarf down between meals.  I should be able to at least hit my daily caloric goal.  My supps come tomm.  I will be using Animal Stak 2, Animal M Stak, and Animal Pak.  I realize nutrition and exercise are what matter the most but I am hoping these will give me a little boost.

Feeling like crap

Thursday, October 18th, 2007

I still felt horrible today.  By the end of the day I had a horrible headache.  I think I am fighting off something.  I really didn’t want to take another day off but it felt like a fever.  From what I’ve heard infections can spread if you aren’t careful.  I still managed to get all of my calories in though.  It’s been a real good week as far as that is concerned.  I am thinking of putting my Black Hole on hold though.  I am getting all of the food I need without it.  Later on when I need to really force it down I will start taking it again.  I bought like 4 bottles to save on shipping so I definitely want to use it.

Black Hole Day 2

Tuesday, October 16th, 2007

Here is my basic menu, it changes a bit but it pretty constant

BFast-Oatmeal w/ skim milk, berries, and flax seed oil added

Snack-Weight Gainer Shake (Syntrax Nectar, Olive Oil, and Maltodextrin)

Lunch-Usually a stew or chili, 1 hour of prep on Sunday means a whole week of lunches and sometimes dinners

Lifting Days-Pre and Postworkout shake, right now I use After Mass from Prosource, after I run out in a few days I will start making my own with dextrose, maltodextrin and Nectar protein

Cardio Days-Beforehand I use E-Gel by Crank and after I use my regular pwo drink

Dinner-Same as lunch

Snack-Weight Gainer Shake

Prebed meal-Cottage cheese, berries, and flax seed oil or cottage cheese, peanut butter, protein, and flax seed oil
Today was not as good as yesterday.  I didn’t seem to feel the affects from the Black Hole.  I can’t be sure if it was a change it my routine or supplement.  I couldn’t get my all of my dinner or prebed snack down.  I still hit about 3500 cals.  Like I said yesterday, I am just trying to average 3700 per day.  I hit about 4000 yesterday so I am on track so far.  I head back to the gym tomm.  I hope that all of these extra cals start to give me some extra umph in the gym.

Black hole Day 1

Monday, October 15th, 2007
Day 1-I wasn’t expecting the stuff to come today so I didn’t track my intake real close. I was pretty suprised to find it when I came home from work.

My daily caloric intake should be around 3700 calories a day. I got this figure using Precision Nutrition’s Massive eating calculator. It figures in daily activity, weight, bodyfat, etc. From what I can tell it is inthe right ballpark. I can even put in my macro breakdown and it tells me how many grams and cals of each I need. Too easy.

On lifting days my cals will be slightly higher than cardio days. This is do to the fact that I have a preworkout shake before lifting while I only have a pack of energy gel before cardio. I would love to have the shake before cardio but my stomach can’t handle it.

Like I said before, I didn’t follow my cals real close but I think I will fall at about 4000 cals. With cardio coming up tomm that should help me stay at about 3700 per day.

I did take the Black hole in the evening. I did notice myself salivating more. And the big meal did go down and stay down easier. However the subsequent food ( a shake) didn’t go do as easy. Granted my dinner was huge but I was hoping for as easier time with the followup meals.

Black Hole Supplement Log-Starting soon

Thursday, October 11th, 2007

I am starting a supplement log for Black Hole by Controlled Labs very soon.  It is meant to be an appetite enhancer.  My workouts have been good but I never eat enough to make any real progress.  My six month mark is Monday so I hope this will give me the edge I need to hit my goal.  I am hoping the stuff comes by Monday so I can start stuffing myself as soon as possible.  Wish me luck!
