Back too soon

If you read my last blog you know that I had a stretch of bad luck.  I thought I was ready to get back in the gym last week but I was wrong.  I started getting sick again after my workout.  I’m going to try and get back in the gym tomorrow.  I’m hoping that I am ready this time.  All of the set backs are getting frustrating.

3 weeks of illness and injury

It all started about 3 weeks ago when I injured my pec.  It hurt like crazy and doing anything with my upper body at all was out of the question.  I had been training pretty hard so I decided to take a week off.  Then the day I was ready to get back in the gym I got sick as hell.  I hardly left the bed for about a week.  I had no appetite and no energy.  I lost a ton of weight, around 15 pounds all together in this time period. I finally made it back today and it was  pretty rough.  My energy level is still pretty low and my lifts were crap.  I am back to eating healthy and getting lots of fluids so hopefully this  is only temporary.  If I am still dragging on Monday I will had back to the Doc.  It is pretty frustrating because I was making a lot of progress.  With some hard work and discipline I should be able to make up what I lost  in no time.

Diet Changes

I tlaked with a sports nutritionist today.  I told her my goals and we laid out a basic plan.  I am going to start eveything tomorrow.  I thought about going nuts and eating whatever I wanted, but eveytime I do that my stomach still feels upset the next morning.  Instead I am still going to eat clean tonight and give ebeything a chance to clear out.  Once I deploy I am afraid that I will have trouble getting the right food so this may be a test run for when I get back to the states.

1000 or bust

There is a very good chance that Uncle Sam is going to be giving be a year long vacation to the sandbox very soon.  The first time I went I was as strong as I had ever been.  There was nothing to do but lift and eat.  I was pretty uneducated back them and I made some dumb mistakes.  I ended up injured.  To make things worse I didn’t keep it up when I got home.  This time around I know better.  I have a few more years under my belt and I have a goal.  By the time I get back I want to be over a 1000 pounds on my big three.  Last summer I was up to 875 but I let some bad lifestyle choices dominate my life.  I have a clear head now.  Honestly I think that goal is a little on the light side.  If I am disciplined and methodical I think I can come back with a total over 1200 or 1300.  By the time I am 30 I want to total about 1700 at a bodyweight of 181.  That os one hell of a challenge but I am sure I can do it.  Wish me luck
