Most Helpful Member !!

October 21, 2009

Bodybuilding.com needs another catergory for members. It needs a Most Helpful Member section so new members and present members have some members DEDICATED to helping others without having to pay for it by going to another site besides this one.  Instead of NO PAIN NO GAIN !!! It seems like it should be NO PAY NO GAIN !! Any thoughts ????

Inspirational Members !!!

September 24, 2009

First -

I find myself writing this blog after being on this website for about 6 months because I get tired of the " Vote for me - ads !! " I"ll vote for the member who doesn’t ask for it first. If you’re worthy of the vote you shouldn’t need to ask for it !!

Second -

I don’t understand how someone can get so many members who they can inspire and not have the common courtesy of accepting them as a friend. Just plain " RUDE " !!! I know members who haven’t gotten one response after listing a member as inspirational. Just don’t get it !!!

Ok - WOW I feel much better now. LOL

I love this site but some people need to wake up !!!

Probably Me !!!!!

Transformation of the Week !!

September 10, 2009

After 5 months of hard work I see the results had paid off. With alot of support through this website I was able to do what I never thought possible. I am now in the best shape of my life and plan to stay this way. Many of my friends never thought I’d stick with it and others have alienated themselves from me. They say I’m not as much fun now because I don’t drink. Owell, maybe they weren’t friends to begin with - just drinking buddies. With the right motivation anyone can accomplish success in changing their body but it starts with changing your mind. Want it & go for it !!!!!

Fat to Six Pack Abs in 5 Months !!!!

September 2, 2009

Here I am 5 months into my life changing transformation. I never would have thought it was possible. Through diet and exercise I am achieving the look I’ve always wanted. I have never felt better nor looked better than I do now. I get asked alot if I’m losing weight on purpose or if I’m sick. Just for the record I’m sick but in a good way. When I’m determined to do something there are no obstacles. My mind and my pride drive straight with very few curves in the road. For those of you trying to accomplish what you think you can’t look at my April photo. ( LOL )

How I Lost 40 lbs. in 16 Weeks !!!!

August 8, 2009

WOW !  What a roadtrip this has been. Let me start first by saying thank you to Bodybuilding.com. This site has motivated me to accomplish what I never thought would be possible. I’m in the best shape I’ve ever been in and it feels extraordinary. I also want to thank all the members on this site who have motivated me along the way. The support is unbelievable !!!OK - Before I get to the meat of what I did I feel it’s very important to know what I did before I started in regards to my diet and exercise.

Diet -

My day would start at about 7:30am. I would eat no breakfast but have a bottle of water ( that’s the best part of my diet plan at this point ! ). I would travel during the day until about 4pm eating lunch 2-3 times per week. I stopped at the local pub and had 4-5 Bacardi & Cokes everyday with my buddies and then come home and have a couple more before dinner. My wife would then cook a dinner fit for 5 ( keep in mind only 2 of us ! ) She would completely cover my dinner plate with outrageous portions of everything I learned not to eat. Her being a great cook and Mom telling me to eat everything on my plate when I was young I did what every man would have done ! WENT BACK FOR SECONDS !! OMG- I was a stuffed pig almost every night. Pasta, bread, pasta, french fries, pasta … You get the picture. Weekends were worse - my wife bought a Margarita mixer. Oh - Crap !! Had to have rum runners. ( 5-6) with the neighbor watching sports - with snacks of course. Sports without snacks ! I don’t think so. I ate everything and anything. So, you can see my diet was a total FUBAR. ( F’kd up beyond all recognition ! ) for those who didn’t know.

Exercise -

Walk to the car. That was the big one !! Lift drinks constantly. ( I should have used a bigger straw ! ) Carry my dinner plate to the TV. Come on - that thing was heavy with all that food on it !! Man was I glad to get in bed - didn’t have to carry my big ass around anymore !

Sooooo !!!!!

I woke up April 1st and was brushing my teeth when I looked up into the mirror. Holy sh-t !! I didn’t recognize myself. I thought we had an intruder in the house ! Once I knew it was safe to come out I realized I needed to do something and it couldn’t wait any longer. I went directly to the computer and typed in " bodybuilding ". I surfed bodybuilding.com and found my new love.( Another one ! ) I couldn’t believe how informative the site was so I joined right then. Took a photo and posted it and also used it for my background on my computer so I had to look at it everyday. I then went to TNT gym around the corner and purchased a membership. I got 4 sessions with a trainer. Session one was measurements, goals etc. The other 3 sessions were HELL !!! OMG I literally went to the car and sat there for 15mins before leaving in fear I would cause an accident. Good news was - I would come home and see FAT BASTARD on my desktop. Back to the gym the next session. I was going M-W-F for most of the time but started going more often when I knew my body could handle it. I now go 7 days a week but only cardio & abs T-TH-SAT-SUN. My new diet & exercise plan seems to be working just fine !!

Diet -

ALCOHOL - I have had no , none, nada since April 1st.

Breakfast - 5 eggwhites, 1/2 cup oatmeal, bottle of water and animal pak vitamins. I would substitute a protein bar 1-2 times per week just for something different.

Lunch - A turkey, roast beef or chicken sandwich on light whole grain bread with homemade salsa my wife makes and a bottle of water.

Snack 1 - Protein drink

Snack 2 - Medium Baked potato

Dinner - 6 oz. of any meat my wife wanted to cook ( sirloin, chicken, fish, etc. ) No ham 1/2 cup of pasta or brown rice, 1/2 cup of veggies ( frozen - no cans )

Snack 3 - Protein drink

Keep in mind I would vary all the time. She made taco salad ( everything lowfat, no fat etc ) she made pizza on a tortilla shell the same way. She always looked for new recipes and knew what I shouldn’t have. A little of anything wasn’t gonna set me back. I would also drink Arizona diet green tea during the day to quench my thirst. It’s great ! The meals were quite repetitive but it worked for me.

Exercise -

Monday - Chest, triceps, abs  - I picked 4 exercise per body part and did 8-10 reps for 3 sets, sometimes 4 if I was " feeling it ".

Tueday - 30 mins Cardio bike, treadmill, whatever - I mixed it up, abs

Wednesday - Back, biceps, same reps and sets, abs

Thursday - 30 mins Cardio, abs

Friday - I did a variation for my whole body.

Saturday - 30 Mins Cardio, abs

Sunday - 30 mins Cardio, abs

Well, that’s it in a nutshell. I know it’s not specific but I find I change it often.

I’ll be happy to answer all questions !!! I hope to inspire other members to become healthy & fit !! Before I forget I want to also thank my buddies for saying that I wouldn’t stick with it !!!! SOMEONE LOST SOME CASH !!!!!!!!!!

TV at the gym !!

August 7, 2009

I just got back from the gym. OMG ! What a fiasco. A member got irate because the tv he watches while on the treadmill was not on the same channel as usual. I guess there was a power outage and whoever set the channels didn’t put them on the same channel. The member was insistant that the owner change it back. The owner stood his ground and said there were 12 other tvs he could watch. The member just stormed off and as I could see both of them - they both shook there heads in amazement. I just thought that was hilarious cuz they both thought the other was wrong. Is this really a problem at other gyms ???

Doctor visit !!

August 5, 2009

I had to go to the doctor for a physical for an upcoming job opportunity yesterday. I hadn’t been to the doctor in about 15 yrs since surgery on my ACL. It was the first time at this doctor and it went pretty well. I had him laughing so much he forgot to have me cough. Yippy !!! Do they not check for hernia anymore or did he do something else to me to check it ?? Oh well, I don’t know. I didn’t escape the " drop your shorts and turn around " part though. ( Dammit ! ) Anyway, he said everything appears great but won’t have blood tests back until today or tomorrow. He kept shaking his head about me losing 41 lbs since April 1st. Wait till he sees me in another 15 yrs. I’ll probably gain a 100. Just kidding !!! Not going down that road. I worked too hard !! See ya at the gym ! SORTA ! Gotta read my first blog- How I lost 40 lbs. in 16 Weeks !!!

Time to set new goals !

August 4, 2009

Well, now that the weight is gone I must set new goals. Believe it or not I think I’m gonna bulk up. The thought of now " gaining weight makes me laugh ". I know it will be muscle but watching the scale go the other way will be strange. The mindset will have to change for sure. I may shoot for 10 lbs of muscle. Anyone with any good ideas please respond.
