Sailorboy explanation

Thursday, May 15th, 2008

What the **** is that all about?  (My anticipated reaction)
–I am in fact a sailor.  Yes it is a sport(debate it as you will, it’s in the olympics!)  (although, so is curling)  No, it’s not a contact sport and it’s nothing too incredibly hard but it does require some physical ability and besides the skill involved, most people would probably be sore after just an hour of racing.

Why am I telling you this?  So you’ll know.  If you think sailing is an obscure, pretty boy sport; check this shit out.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HxN33qW-n4E
That’s 30 knots–35 mph.  Not bad for no motor.

Now I realize sailing isn’t exactly the bodybuilders pastime.  But you’d be suprised how big some of the grinders get on 100 foot plus race boats (someone has to muscle in all that rope with enormous loads, for hours on end)
Anyone with sailing memories?
