I focused today on my chest and tris, and I feel great. I tried to increase my bench a bit, but not on my last set. I increased weight on my first 2 sets, and still kept my 3rd at 225lbs. It was a good change as I can feel it now. I also made sure to hit the incline with dumb bells instead of a bar. I also moved onto cables for standing flyes, then seated cable declines! Great work out. I did managed to increase my rope push downs to… the entire stack of weights, go me. And, I did behind the head dumb bell presses (triceps), along with 2 sets of dips. Yep, kicked my butt today!
I did manage to drop down to 181lbs today by eating a little clean for a week. I also lost some water weight by watching my salt intake. I feel less bloated, and I can actually see some muscle definition better.
Tomorrow is an off day as I have to travel to the northern part of the state for a meeting, so I’ll send 6 hours on the road. The good news is, I may be back in time to sit in my tree stand for opening day of bow season.

I made it to the last notch on my belt… on the small side. If I can drop the last few %’s of body fat, I’ll be very happy. I’m not sure if I’ll push myself to get under 12%, but I do want to be around 15% bf. Yes, it would be hot to see my abs, but being trim and healthy is where I want to be.

Wow, football on Sunday kicked my butt. Even though it was flag, there were still a few strong blocks thrown/received, not to mention one of the biggest guys on the opposing team decided it was a good idea to tackle me, leading with his head… I now have a tooth mark in the back of my head, two days later. My legs are sure sore from cutting and stopping, not to mention we played for 3 hours. But, I can say I got my cardio in.
Needless to say, I haven’t been to the gym yet this week. Hopefully tomorrow I won’t be as sore so I can pick up my routine again, just accelerated for the week. I do have my chicken and brown rice today. And, I have chicked marinating in salsa in the fridge as well.

I’m looking at my progress pics and even though I can see some changes, I’m not happy at all. I need to drop 5-10% of body fat so I can actually SEE my muscle growth. I know that chicken breasts are on sale this week, so I’ll be loading up. Hopefully I can buy the things I want/need without going over budget. I have a great job that pays me very well, but paying back student loans among other things surely puts a dent in the old wallet. Bonus though… deer season opens soon…. venison!!

Only a few more days until my big flag football tournament. I think the last 6 weeks in the gym is really going to help me on the field, especially being most of teh guys playing are out of shape. Luckily it’s only flag football so no one should get hurt, even though someone always does.
Today I hit my shoulders harder than ever. Every day I think to myself; I want to push my arms, I want bigger delts, I wish my back was sculpted. So, I get in the mindset that I’m going to push myself in that particular area. What’s funny is every day it changes… one day its biceps, then triceps, then back. So in the end, I end up pushing myself to the brink for every body part. Man, I just can’t lose!

I gained a lot of weight from Friday until today. It’s either due to the extra rest my body received, or because I ate a ton over the weekend. It was my 30th birthday, so it was chicken and a couple mugs of beer. I didn’t over do it though. I’ll have to see if my body is still processing the beer and waiting to expel the extra water weight from it. I did manage to get a great nap in yesterday afternoon. It was raining and miserable outside, so I figured why not?
The sleeves on my polo shirt are fitting a little snug today, I like it! I did do back and biceps today, so that probably has something to do with it.
I plan on sticking to my spilt routine for this week and next and then changing things up for a bit. I’m going to switch to lighter wieghts, but higher reps for two weeks. And, possibly using different groups of exercises all together. One day will be an entire upper body work out, the next, an entire lower body workout. I’m going to treat it as more extreme cardio with weights. Just a little shock to the system. Plus, I have a flag football tournament this weekend that I organize through work. So, I’ll be pretty sore and beat up come next Monday.

I will be 30 in two days!! Scary thought.
I’m dropping pounds, 190lbs is definitely not in my short term future. I can tell that I’ve been pushing myself hard at the gym, keeping my heart rate higher, longer. I’m still eating like a horse, but I’m dropping weight, slowly. The great thing is, I FEEL bigger. I have to take a few progress pictures in order to compare what I feel and how I actually look. I do love the mirror at the gym though, it makes me look better than the camera does, and other mirrors for that matter.

I had a goal of hitting 190lbs before September 13th, I’m definitely going to fall short. I can’t say that it’s a terrible thing, but I’ll still be missing a goal none the less. I actually drop 1/2 a pound over the weekend, and man did I ever eat… went to a wedding. I’m not sure if it’s my metabolism increasing, or if I’m just hitting a plateau.
I still haven’t decided if I want to start cutting or not. The way I see it, I’m not gaining fat and I’m gaining muscle, so I’m not going to make any drastic changes just yet. The new routine seems to be working well. I got a a great workout in today, and I’m looking forward to tomorrow.
I can say that I’m definitely addicted to the gym. Come Sunday night, after being off for two days, I’m craving Monday morning.

My goal was to be 190lbs by 9-13-08, my 30th b-day. I’m not sure If I’m going to make that goal, but I have progressed nicely already. My question is whether or not I should start cutting in a few weeks, or keep trying to bulk until Spring. I can see the benefits of doing both. If I cut soon, I can lose the extra flab I’m carrying and start looking really good. But, if I continue to bulk until Spring, I can look good… and be huge (huge for me that is). I know it’ll be easy to bulk in the winter.
Any thoughts? Please let me know.

My weight gain seems to have leveled off for a couple of days. It’s not really a bad thing, but i would like to see myself at 190lbs by September 13th. I could get there by eating a ton of junk, but that won’t do me any good now will it?
I was pretty tired trying to work on my shoulders this morning. I missed my cardio day because of the holiday, which is the day I planned on resting my upper body. I was having a hard time stablizing myself in order to do lateral and front raises. I did make it through the workout, but I lowered my resistance and then moved to abs. So, my abs were hit pretty good, so I didn’t lose a day.
