Great article. Thanks!

I do agree with Buffett in one respect--I think he is right that he was hard-wired at birth--with the desire for wealth though not the talent. His intense desire has driven him. Unfortunately, most folks just don't usually want to do the hard work necessary to get what they want.

I usually try and plan a cheat day around family occasions. It hasn't really stopped me. In fact I'd say its healthy. Good luck.

That's a lot of cake!!!!

I'm trying to avoid my extended family as much as possible. They bring out the worst in my food choices.

man what was worse cake or beer? I can see dying for either !

I have been eating clean for awhile (45 days +) as well, in the past when I was drinking, I would slip and fall and cheat both with beer and eating, now that I am dry, I find that I am so scared to drink that I cheat on nothing, I even block out craving these things. I have no desire to drink or cheat with bad food, or alcohol, or anything. I don't know how this has happened, I guess I got scared straight !!! Actually I believe God has released me from the grip of evil desires.

Thanks a lot and good comments. What are my thoughts on cheating. Well number one keep it to a minimum like once a week or even better once every 2 weeks. On a cheat day only cheat for a porton of it not the whole day. Why do I do it. Well for a few reasons. Number one I still crave those foods. I can go without provided I know that in a few days my cheat day is comming up and I can have it then. When I do cheat after so long with eating healthy I actually feel gross and this makes me not want to cheat again (at least for another week or 2). I am a social cheater just like I am a social drinker so I combine the 2. Luckily I am not very social and therefore can avoid cheating except on those rare days where there is a birthday party, Christmas or I have a friend or family member visiting from a distance (or I am on the road visiting them). Lstly I find that it helps rather than hinders my gains. After awhile of less calories my body gets used to it and I plateau. if I cheat I find that it fills me up to overfill. This tells my body that i am not starving and keeps my metabolism high. Lastly, sometimes you just have to leet go and have fun. So I do. I just try to do it very infrequently. Good for you for being able to go completely clean. I may get there one day...

It is worth the effort that is for sure. And the feeling you get when you are in good shape compares to nothing.

Good workout and diet - I have a comment for you about how I feel about cheating, but I know everyone is different - after struggling for years to eat clean, when I finally achieved it day in, day out I decided not to ever cheat because I didn't want any bad habits to creep back into my diet. Now after so long I don't miss the so-called 'cheat foods' any more. The great progress I am making thanks in large part to my clean eating motivates me even more and I just don't want to cheat - I want to be the best I can be and I don't want to consume any food that is going to hold back my progress. This is a hotly debated topic and I just wanted to share how I feel about it with you.
